new wheels on order!

well as my quest of de-chroming the car is nearing completion, (i only have my badges and door handles left now) I broke down and bought these the other day. wanted to wait until they came in to share...but just too excited and need to share with someone...goodbye black wheels with silver lip!

hello, these little beauties...should help tie my red/black scheme together. just recently became available on tirerack.com I will post pics hopefully this weekend if i can get them installed.

i'll be selling my black/polished lip wheels soon, or maybe use them for winter tires.

Those look awesome -- and will look even better if you can fill them in with some nice, big, red Wilwood brakes

theyve been on tirerack for a few weeks now, but didnt have a release date until early june...I kept an eye on it and saw that they came available sooner than expect...the price did go up $4 a wheel, but for $117 a wheel, you can't beat it! They have 16in wheels too.

I couldn't find any info on weight though...

Nice looking.

How does the 4 lug pattern work on those 5 spokes? It looks like the wheel center could not accomodate a 4 lug pattern since the spokes begin to form and radiate from the center, before the lug holes are located.

good question, i'll post up the pics when they arrive...I do know that they are designed to allow original lug bolts. I looked on my invoice today, they threw in a set of hub rings, so thats pretty exciting, too.

They were on my doorstep when i came home from work this evening...

I thought the black would be gloss, but its not. Its more of a satin black, which made me even more happy. I got a nice little lip too!

jcw driver, heres a shot so you can see how the bolt pattern works. The wheels came with a center cap, and a removable emblem..so I can have Aesthetic Creations make me up something sweet. I'm going to try to put them on tomorrow!

blackx5- I am also thinking for getting 18's, Everyone keeps on telling me that 18x7.5 is the widest I should go but the wheels I want are 18x8 and I see you have 18x8's installed. Do you have any rubbing issues? I am also thinking of installing h&r sport springs. Im in Los Angeles too, can you recommend me a good place to buy wheels and tires here?

Just a thought - I'm just guessing, but the size of the center cap looks like it might be the same as the apparently-standard-size OEM silver-on-black MINI logo cap, which you can get at any dealer..

The MINI cap looks great on my SSRs...

Well, I got them on. The pictures aren't the greatest, but they'll do for now. Also, if you are looking for a lightweight option. These probably aren't for you. Tire rack really should make wheel weight readily available information. these weigh 22.2lbs each. The wheels I had on before these weighed 18.5lbs each. I CAN definitely feel the difference when accelerating. but i like how they look, so I'm keeping them on

lastly, I am ALMOST all blacked out...all thats left are the centercaps that came with the new wheels, lol (sorry for the blurry pic, i didnt have my pod with me)
