My dealer said if I wanted them to do stripes they would be painted on. I'm iffy about it because it seems so, well, permanent. I was planning on buying stripes and having them applied but I am wondering which would be better.

Does anyone have their stripes painted on? Any problems?

Few if any of the stripes I've seen on MCO are painted. Either way, If you're not completely comfortable with the permanence of paint, don't go that way. Frankly, I'm suprised the dealer said that, unless you want some special graphic treatment on your stripes. You might check with Matt at CooperFlags (look at MCO sponsor list) if you want to explore other options.

haha! Never thought of that, the pros are the same as the cons.

I have looked at Cooper Flags and that's probably what we'll go with. Do most people have them put on by shops that apply window film?

Because of the layout of my stripes, I've had to go the painted on route. It's better, as long as you're sure it's want you want. But, if you're iffy about the stripes you want stick to the vinyl ones.

 

Well my dealer is going to put on mine, however I'd not reccomend you go to a dealer that thought painting them on was a better idea. I'm sure Matt at CF would be able to advise you for someone in your region, or ask in the forums here for where people near you got stripes done.

So if the vynil comes off you simply put new stripes on, if you wnat to get the paint off, you will have to sand the entire surface and repaint it.
