Tuscan Beige / Oak Surface

I am almost ready to pull the trigger and order a new MCS. The options I am currently going with are:

Pepper White/with White Top
16" S-winders
LSD
Rear Fogs
MFSW
Tuscan Beige Leather
White color line and Oak Surface

I have seen this Beige/Oak combination and love it but I have not seen it on a white car. Also I have owned a car with tan door and kick panels and it was a real bear to keep scuff marks off. Any thoughts.

Also I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the back seat in Tuscan Beige they could post. And what exactly is that "oak surface" anyway?

I know the beige interior is the only option listed but could it be ordered with Carbon black panels? I am not even sure how that woul look but just wondering.

Scott

I think your car will look hot. If it is mainly just you in the car then I think the interior color will be ok, but if you have lots of people riding with you (especially kids) then you may want to reconsider (or just be sure to keep detailing products in your boot). I don't remember if I read that the oak surface was a laminate or real wood but i remember reading that most folks were happy with it as their choice.

Not quite sure what you mean by 'carbon black panels'...do you mean the oval rings on the door? the panels between the rings? the dash trim? If it's the trim then you can order in piano black, but if its the rings or door panels then you're stuck with the default color.

I think your idea sound great. The beauty of pepper white is that almost any color interior goes good with it. If you do follow through with this combo I'd love to see pics of it when it arrives.

This combination is unbeatable - especially if you spec the wooden steering wheel too. (There are some pics on my Flickr page.)

I have that combo (see my gallery). The matching door panels don't show anything, they're easy to wipe off. You can't get black door panels anyway, just the piano black trim (I've got that too).

Don't the Tuscan (beige) seats and door panels clash with the creme color line dash and door inserts?

Dunno I'd call it a clash but there's certainly a contrast!

Yup, that's my concern, that they are not an exact match and I wouldn't want that. Hard to tell from the photo though. Does anyone have this color combo who could weigh in? Thanks.

Gee, some people seem to be so frightened by color combinations. Warm white and tan is not a clash.

I believe that the English Oak panels are oak veneer that has been stained or ammonia fumed to a dark walnut color, and have a heavy plastic coating to protect them. From what I've seen, it looks good. I went with Piano Black and which that I had chosen English Oak instead. I didn't have anything other than a 1" swatch to see when I made the decision.

Oak comments

Purchasing the Oak (I bought off the lot), the cream accents were a concern even tho I don't have small ones or pets to dirty 'em up, I am a bit persnicty about clean cars. At the 10 month point there have been no problems.

I don't know if there's real wood in there someplace....the plastic coating is very thick and this wears a lot different than the wood dash in the 79

I also find the wood pieces to show fingerprints MUCH less than the piano black pieces.....I'd be going NUTS about fingerprints if I'd ordered all PB...

I have that interior combination and the dash is lighter but it doesn't clash. Get the tuscan leather, because most mini coopers have dark interiors and this will make yours stand out.

Well said!

That's whole point of being able to spec what you want - and not follow the herd.

I don't like dark interiors so went for a light one, with Tuscan Beige, wood and so on. But if anyone wants a dark one - anthracite, tints, etc. with stripes all over it - then that's fine by me and I respect their right to make that choice. (That would be horrible to my eyes, especially with a dark body colour. But so what? )

What sold me....

what's a more 'classic look' for a car than

tan leather, wood dash, wood wheel, wood shifter?

THAT'S classic Brit car ..... altho I'll admit not necessarily classic Mini .... maybe a bit more to the MG or Triumph side of the street.

But close enuf 4 me ... I'll deal with other compromises to get that 'flavor'

{on THIS MINI - the 02 is Lapis Blue and that distressed alloy stuff }
