I personally dont like the sunroof, the two reasons being it adds 60 lbs to the car and there is no cover for it just the sun shade. The kicker for me was the sun shade, because I do love sunroofs. Also auto ac is a waste of money to me IMHO.
I am battling with my build right now also I went for the jcw kit with lsd and dsc, also with new cell phone laws in cali I will for sure be getting bluetooth/ipod. That will be it for me my current car has heated seats, and the only person that uses them is my girlfriend and since she wont be making the payment I wont be paying 500 dollars for them, but you may live in a colder climate than myself.
Dont know if that was of any help, but if you are personally happy with the options like DONNA/MIKE said I say go for it. Pull the trigger and order, the longer you wait to order the longer its going to be before you get your mini.

nice configuration I would also agree about the wipers and for sure add the auto dim mirror. I would also do more research on the sunroof I have read too many negative things about it. btw I live near Seattle as well. I went with the heated cloth seats cloth seats and saved the 1500 bucks. fwiw MINI is going to be opening a new dealership in noth Seattle. Good Luck
I'm not a big fan of auto-dim mirrors.. I personally only flip my mirror to "night mode" if there's someone behind me with their highs on behind me. I like the extra visibility.
The sunroof, well I do understand that quite a few people are having issues with the drains getting clogged and water leaking inside of the car. I'll keep that thing squeaky clean. I don't plan on tracking the car regularly, the extra weight won't matter to me.
And the leather/cloth seats are only $1,000, and it comes with the matching dash color, and my choice of dash accent, which I'll choose piano black. I think it'd be a nice touch. I'll be giving this some more thought though.
I didn't even really think about the auto wipers. I'm driving a 90 accord and used to turning on the wipers manually. I'll do some research into those, thanks for the heads up, that's why I made the thread!

Yes, the auto wipers are nice. They adjust speed as the intensity of the rain changes. The only issue I've had with them is that occasionally after being parked in the rain they think that they are in a downpour and run frantically for a few minutes before the sort things out. A bead of water probably formed over the sensor.
Power fold mirrors are for Europe where parking spaces can be extremely tight. Not sure where I would use them in the USA.
I very much like the NAV because it integrates the audio, bluetooth, and car settings very nicely. Speaking of audio, how about the iPod Integration?
The other item I like is the Park Distance Control. Also better with the NAV because it has a nice graphic that shows you where the obstruction is.

I don't know about the 08, but in 07, if you did not get the auto-wipers, the intermittent wiper speed is preset, with no adjustment. I have driven my Mini only a handful of times in the rain and the auto wipers work quite good. You can adjust how sensitive they are. They work good in the heavy fog/mist we get around my area too.
I really like the comfort access option. You might consider that one. You can leave the key in your pocket and never have to remove it.

Dump all of it and get the colors you really want and the MFSW. Aftermarket the stereo and stay away from the sport suspension upgrade, it makes everything with the RF's a very harsh ride. Maybe keep your blue interior and maybe the LSD. Save yourself about 7 grand, it still drives the same! And you will have a car that really holds it's resale!
well, after reading a lot about the nav, I've opted to omit it... The POI searching seems like it can be a pain, I don't like that it's not a touch screen, and it seems like it's a little too overpriced for what you get.
I am anti-ipod. I don't like anyone talking on the phone while driving, so I don't want to make it any more convenient for myself.
the power fold mirrors simply come with the cold weather package. I actually have them on my 90 accord, it was an option in Japan so I sourced them out and love them. I like having them for pulling into my garage at home.
Is comfort access that great? it just seems like another gimmick...

Comfort access allows you to walk upto the car without taking anything out of your pocket, press the black button on the door handle to unlock it, get in, put the clutch down, press the Start/Stop button and go. You never have to fuss with the fob.
Sun roof
Well I dont know of any negatives about my roof windows. If I didnt have it I would not see some traffic lights, I work on my tan and it vents the car nice. It will hold its seal at intense autobahn speeds as well.
My car is loaded, def get the dimming mirror and auto wipers. How about the sport package?????!!!!!!! I forgot, did you get the winter pac too....you need that.
ENJOY your new MINI

Does anyone have or want to point me in the direction of some pictures of a Laser Blue S (preferably black top) with the JCW aero kit? I've only come across one in the Pic thread.
I love the kit, I'm just not sure if I should get it upfront, or do it later...

I kinda like the idea of having everything in a car controlled manually, not auto, hence why I'm not too keen on the auto wipers/lights... Getting the Auto A/C is killing me, but it comes in the package, no reason not to get something for free...
edit: thanks for all this talk guys, it's making me more and more sure about my decision...

Sounds like a good build for what you like/don't like. You sound like a "minimalist" type, not big on the newest convenience tech stuff. I'd strongly consider the auto wipers for Seattle. I'm in AZ and rarely use 'em but you basically push the stalk and forget any wiper adjustments of any type. The comfort access was something that just came in a package for me, but after having it for over a year I really like it a lot, one of my faves. Stuff I have that is "no big deal" is the auto AC, auto lights, I really don't open the sunroof much, but I like the light it lets in, I could probably live without the xenons, I use the garage door openers every day (but you can buy multiopeners), and I use the BT phone thing on occasion (but I'm not pushing it, I'm not a big phone person in the car). The only thing I use the MFSW for is the cruise control. I turn the volume with the **** and because I only listen to an iPod I don't change CD tracks with it ever. Of course I have the BT so I have to have it for phone calls, but if I didn't have that it'd be useless.

^yea, I am kinda minimalist in that respect. I'm sure it has to do with the car I drive now. I have power things, but nothing is automatic.
I will consider the auto wipers, but since they come in the package with the auto lights, it's really holding me at bay. Can you turn off the auto feature for the lights?

Well, in reality the only things you "really need" is 4 wheels, a motor and something to steer it with. What you "want" should reflect your tastes. Do you need White Turn signals? Nah, but they're cool huh?! Do you need LSD? Nah, but it makes the car safer in a pretty wet city.
Do you want a sunroof? I did, mine works great, 2 other people I work with have a sunroof on their mini and they love em, never 1 problem either. I tend to think folks that have problems are more likely to post something on a forum than not :-) So I wouldn't read too much into that. If you have doubts though, definitely save yourself the money
Good luck on your purchase, the color choice is great

I just ordered a LB/B MCS a week ago... I was iffy about how the blue inside and blue outside would look together. I WANTED pacific blue interior, but the guy at the dealership told me that it didn't really look that great with the laser blue. So i opted to just go with black. I don't really like black interiors, but I figure I can customize the inside and make it what I want it to be. It's like starting with a blank canvas!
Yeah, you can set the lights to off, on, or auto. Your choice. I'm surprised you want seat heaters in Seattle. If you garage the car like I do you won't need those much. I've seen postings that they get REALLY hot when turned on, and there's nothing you can do to turn them down right away until the car heats up some.

I thought it'd look great together. I know they're not exactly the same shade of blue, but....
I found this pic in the picture thread... doesn't look too bad to me..
