Tweat me to some Twisties!
Coming this Saturday...sign up in the MINI5280 calendar, right here in NAM!
Tweat Me To Some Twisties (see the new map Here). Now improved without dirt!
This ride takes us south, through the balmy southerly breezes of Colorado Springs before turning west to take on the Rockies once more. Twisties are guaranteed as are epicurean delights at Zoka's Restaurant & Bar in Pine, CO. Ride this ride and you too will be able to boast to your friends that you have been to Florence and Canon City and have seen the ancient mining town of Victor. Brave the Rockies with fellow MINIs and Minis and you will be able to impress your children with tales of High Park Road and Cripple Creek.
Here are the tentative details:
7:30 AM Starbucks
(Yosemite & Maximus - Lone Tree)
9:00 AM Quickie breakfast stop in Colorado Springs Starbucks
(S Nevada Ave & Cheyenne Meadows Rd)
817 Cheyenne Meadows Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906
Canon City
Cripple Creek
Lunch, early afternoon, at Zoka's Restaurant and Bar in Pine
Grove, Co. www.zokas.com The restaurant is dog friendly so this is a
doggie friendly ride.
Return to Denver by 4:00 PM after about 250 miles of Colorado glory.
The highlight is a trip up Skyline Drive in Canon City. It is a narrow
1-way road overlooking the city, Florence, et al. Short and nice.
And a nice visit to Victor, old mining town, and Cripple Creek, a
gambling town. Twisties galore. Round Tweat = 274 miles.
