dynoday depression lol

my adds, milltek catback, m7 ddm intake, m7 %16 pulley

now im not much of a dyno sheet reader but this looks not so nice to me

by the way its clickable

13% drivetrain loss puts you around 178hp, or 13hp above stock with 3 simple mods, that actually doesn't seem too bad.

That's pretty bad actually. There could be a boost leak maybe?

after looking with in the last 10 mins i think i had one. the coupler wasnt on all the way on oneside, plus there is aloooot of oil in there , i know the oil is common but i dont think its ever been cleaned before 60k miles

i am also putting on a milltek header in a week or so , then ill go back and hit it again lol

This is a complete guess, but does it look like the belt is slipping at all from the dyno?

i couldnt tell but they make you stand back when they are running it , i did notice the the one coupler was tilted over on the larger port of the intercooler looked like this \ . so im thinking i had a bad boost leak, cause the car drives different now when shifting

like usually it would kinda jerk between shifts even shifting slowly, and now its more smooth like theres more power when i come off the clutch

Doesn't really look like a boost leak. The numbers do look a bit low for a pulley (You're not going to gain any power from the intake really). The peaks and valley's in the pull are just normal dyno variations. If they had set the smoothing higher you would just see a line.

There have been rumors of the 16% M7 Pulley causing some issues with belt grip (Something about the design) but I've never owned one or seen a car on the dyno with one, so I have no idea.

I'm not sure. You could spray a bit of spray glue on the belt on the dyno. If you see an improvement in the numbers then you'll know the belt is slipping. If you do use glue, make sure you swap out the belt and clean the pulley afterwards.

What size belt are you using with the 16%?

Actually it's either 15 HP or 10 HP. Depending on the year of his car.

The 02-04 Tritec made 163 BHP.
The 05-06 Tritec made 168 BHP.

The bump was from a shift to the JCW Supercharger in 05 which had coated vanes.

The drivetrain loss on the MCS 6-Speed is typically closer to 10-11% though.

Anyway, it's all semantics, the numbers are a bit low, although not overly so.

should i have lost the 25+ hp on my first run in green though? i always wondered why it seemed to pull a little harder when shifting around 6k now i know why , hey the bright side is as long as i shift there i wont have to worry about over reving the supercharger

+1 on the need for a tune from Jan. The lines should/could be MUCH smoother. As far as the low #s, some cars are just stronger than others and there are a lot of theories on why. One thing for sure is that some versions of the factory tuning really sucks. Check out this link for the improvement that Jan's tune had on a MCS here in Rochester a few weeks ago.

The jagged lines are just because the dyno graph doesn't have a smoothing factor applied. With smoothing it'd be straight as an arrow.

id love to have jan tune it but the closest he has come to oklahoma since i got the mini was i houston wich is like 6 hour drive for me one way and i dont have any scheduled time off yet. also im debating on trading her up for an 05+ r53 with lsd

but i do understand that it wont be a straight arrow up , its the 25+hp dip i get right after 6k rpm

No baseline [stock] pulls? If not, then you have no idea if it's a good number with those mods on that dyno or not.

I for one think that someone did a lousy job at this dyno runs. The last two runs don't start untill like 2800 RPMs and you can see on the fist run (green one) that the torque is already pretty high at almost 2k. As far as the numbers go, they are to the wheels and they will always be lower than the crank HP.
As others mentioned it would help to know what the graph looks like for the stock MCS.
