Homeade Cowl scoop??

Whats up everybody. So I have seen the scoops that are out there for the cowl and Im not really impressed with how they look. They dont seem to look as aggressive as i like. I'm thinking about making my own cowl scoop for my intake. I'll just use Fiber glass. I was wondering if anybody else has made their own? I've seen one really nice carbon fiber scoop, but that was hand made and their are only two existing right now...but it sits a little higher up and looks like it would catch more air then other i have seen...

I think the way I'm going to attatch it is to just use the plastic grill that is there already as the base and just build the scoop around that. I can even keep the mesh there to keep anything from flying in there.

anyway I'll keep everyone posted.

thanks

Had a chance to look for a pic.

Peter has tried but can't find someone reliable to make these. I even took the molds from Peter and took it to a local boat builder who I approached as a possible side business. He seemed interested but wasn't sure so I suggested that he make 1 to see what was involved. THIS WAY I WOULD GET ONE .

He told me come back in a week. I did, nothing and this went on for 6 weeks so I finally just took the mold back for fear it would disappear. Its amazing because they do boat molds daily and could use the left over scrap and resins to make small stuff like this.

I ended up buying the Orcini's from Peter. I think they look great but proabably do squat.

Haha I did the same! I even talked to a boat builder also. Great minds think alike.

Here is a cowl scoop someone is doing for a Honda. A little more stylish than the one above.
