My husband and I are trying to get our order complete this week, but we can not decide between the Chili Red or Lightning Blue!! We used to have an Indi Blue with White and loved it. We are going with black top and bonnet stripes either way!!

If you could post somes pictures of your Chili Red or Lightning Blue it may help in our decision!!!

Sounds liike you need a color change from blue anyway and of course I'm biased sorry not a black roof and R53 but....

 

We couldn't decide either, so we have both.

I was in exactly the same situation. I went with Lightning Blue. I was comin from cashmere silver metallic color so either was a change for me. Reds are too common where I live. If you choose red then you can use 500 saved for other options. Good luck on decision.

There are pics of my lightning blue mini in my gallery. I personally like lightning blue better (obviously), but going with chili red would save you $500...

 

Seems to me that Lightening Blue is by far the most common color for new MINIs on NAM. I get the impression that at least 75% of them are LB.

 

I think LiB owners must be more vocal or something. Because you're right... I see a ton of them on NAM. However, when I'm out driving, I see silver and red more a lot often.

 

LiB does seem pretty rare in the wild. Most minis I see are red, white. black, or grey. I like the LiB, obviously. Plus, it's the brightest color the wife will let me get. She thinks yellow and red are too visible to.....well, I am not sure who. But when I walked up to a yellow one on the lot that had the options I wanted, she said "It's yellow", and walked off. We ended up ordering

I guess it depends on where you live... here in SF bay area... I can see red all over the place.... I guess part of the reason is because the R53 had chilli red too but still...

PS: I was choosing between chilli red and laser blue... but after seeing at least 5 chilli red on the freeway (not counting those that I saw in town b4 I got to freeway) when I went test drive I had to go w/ laser blue...

 

I totally agree! I have a LiB on order and have been looking at other MINIs on the road and I think I have seen less then 5 MINIs that were LiB. Maybe its a LA thing and ppl here don't get LiBs? I dunno...

But yeah, between placing my order and having it start production, I think I changed my mind about a zillion times... LiB to DS to PS to SS to BrG to CR back to LiB, etc etc.. so yeah..like the other poster said, go with your first choice..

I think lighting blue works much better on the Clubman with a contrasting silver roof. For some reason it just doesn't have the same impact on the R56 coupe.

Me? I am starting to like Laser Blue

Tough choice between the two:

Chili Red = Looks great, traditional, $0 cost

Laser Blue = Slick looks, very modern, $450 buckos for the metallic paint charge.

 

Wow, I can totally understand where you're at with the choice between Lightning Blue and Chili Red. I took Chili Red, as every car / motorcycle I've owned in the past 8 years has been blue, and I wanted to change it up a bit (finally).

Red looks so right on a MINI...

 

We had a CR and now have the LB - love both colors - tough choice for sure..

Good to hear you guys are getting ready to get another MINI. I think Chili Red/Black will look great. Although so would a blue one. It just pains me that MINI charges for most of their colors.
