Odd sound, any suggestions?

Hi everyone! Long time-reader, "rare-poster".

Anyway, I have run into my first issue with my 03' MCS., I'm hoping it's not a very serious one and if anyone has experienced the same problem and have any suggestions it would be highly appreciated!

The car seems to makes a "scratch like sound" (not chalkboard against nail scratch, almost like two sandpapers moving against each other - not the best way to explain it) followed by a periodic "squishing sound" (similar to when you have water in your shoes) at speeds of under 20mph (at least I can't hear it after this point).

I could not get a sense of where the sound was coming from as it seemed to come from both sides of the car.. not too sure though. I did try letting the MCS roll in neutral at 15mph and the sound persisted, even when turning (in either direction). Just thought I would mention this, to see if it helps narrows down the problem.

Any suggestions as the what I can do before taking it to a dealership. (which is unfortunately 1000miles away currently)

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Bill

Check the CV boots for tears or leaking grease. The sound might be caused by lack of grease in there, like if one of the ball bearings has seized.
