Hey guys/girls i am new to the forum/cooper life, I am very close on putting in my final order for a cooper s coupe and have just fallen in love with this one can anyone give me any info that they have on this one in the picture below thanks alot!!!!

 

Well - it's obviously the "S" model - looks like Dark Silver with Dark Silver roof - black bonnet stripes, driving lights, upgraded wheels...what else do you want to know? It's purrrttyyy...

thanks for the quick reply guys, so i would like to know what type of wheels are on this baby... and how can you tell its an R53 I go to build one and it doesnt let me put bonnets on a silver top roof, if you guys were to build what what would you select in order to get it to look as close as possible to this masterpiece? plus does this thing have a body kit thanks!!!

 

i think the wheels are the R90s, dont quote me on that, and the R53 is the older model, they may look simmilar but they are different, the R56 has the headlights rakes back and to the sides a bit more, its a bit bigger, the grill on the "S" isnt the bars its the mesh grill the turn signals are in the headlight assembely, the side markers are different. as of right now i you can only get a sliver roof on the R55 clubman, and the closest your going to get to that in a R56 is Dark sliver and black roof and stripes with those wheels selected in the fifth option tier and the lights in the same tier...oh and that looks like the stock body kit for the R53 "S" not the JCW

 

oh dang, unless your talking about a ALL silver body colored car, top and bottom i dont think it will let you put the bonnet stripes on, dont quote me on that cuzz i never bothered with a all one color car.

 

You could still order a 1st Gen MINI in that color but the roof would have to be black fabric!The wheels are silver R90's in either 16" or two piece 17".That MINI dosen't have a body kit but you could get the factory aero(body) kit on a cabrio.

 

ok so in order for me to order a new MCS what do i need to order after the basic stuff? and can i get the older grill as an aftermarket? and what does this one have that the r56 does not thanks again guys.....

 

i read somewhere that the bar grills on the R56 Cooper S is not possable because of heat and cooling issues of the more powerful turbo charged engine, the extras that you would want from that car are as far as i can see are the driving lamps/lights and the R90 rims. and i think its more of a matter of what the R56 has that the R53 does not. except the supercharger, thats the one thing that i can say. as for differences im not sure seeing as i never owned a R53. oh and if you get a auto is a completely different transmission from the R56, the old one was a CVT..bleh. where as the new one is a more conventional auto transmission.

 

This is what my new MINI looks like, only i have a black roof instead of the dark silver. You can see a few pictures in my gallery. I have the stock grill though, which this one has been changed from the original stock (since it's an S).

I always thought the DS/DS was the best choice. I didn't opt for bonnet stripes, because its my wife's MINI.
But I can dream. *G*

I have Dark Silver/Dark Silver too.

You can add the bonnet stripes later.

There are quite a few wheels (factory and after market) that are that style.

The driving lights can be ordered, added by dealer or after market.

The grille will be a bit more difficult I think

Make sure you get the anthracite headliner!

You cannot retrofit the r53 grille to the r56. It is a one piece grille vs. a 2 piece grille. They Hypersport Grille may get you close to that look, it you painted it. You can buy it seperately from your dealer parts dept without ordering the whole hypersport kit.

I have basically the same car, but mine is an R56. Try this basic combo out on the configurator and tweak it to what you want:

Dark Silver w/ black or dark silver roof
Sport package with web-spoke wheels

I liked that look, but thought the wheels might get take too much maintenance to keep clean. I recently changed the chrome grill surround trim to black, like on the JCW's. Maybe you would like that grill better.

BTW, I have black bonnet stripes too. But I guess you can see that from my picture...
