New Color Suggestion

I'm planning to buy my 3rd Mini when the 09's become available. I would love to see a new color introduced, a deep, dark maroon metallic. Does anyone else think this would be awesome?

I'm sorry. The only choices under consideration are another eight shades of gray.

I'm partial to BRG, but that sounds like a good choice

I just wish the BRG was a true BRG, none of this metallic stuff.

I'd be surprised to see a dark maroon color as long as Nightfire Red is available. If anyhting they could extend it to the MCS, but they aren't really known for doing that, are they?

Visited a dealer recently and saw the Nightfire Red which was lovely. Comes close to the Maroon maybe?

I also looked at Oxygen Blue in person... SWEET!

Unfortunately they are Cooper colors not available on the MCS and I'm looking to get an "S".

I think that the MINI looks good in any color BUT IMHO, what MINI/BMW needs to do is to add more non-metallic color choices.

I'd love to see Alpine White, a true British Racing Green, McLaren Orange, and French Racing Blue!

What we don't really need is another shade of grey, although it would be nice to see Royal Grey make another appearance as it was a unique color that was short lived.

C'mon MINI/BMW, if you're reading these boards take note!

Non metallics, yes

While every color MINI looks great in its own way, I'd like to see a real BRG plus more non metallics. IMHO we have enough greys - at times it seems like every car on the road is either black, white, or a shade of grey.

I'd be willing to chide and ridicule the lot of you for your delusional wishing into existance of new MINI colors, but...............I myself did the same thing long enough and loud enough to finally yield what was to me the ultimate color of my MINI dreams...Oxygen Blue.

So, based on this, I can do nothing but encourage your efforts and wish you victory!!!!!

I was going to stay w/ BMW and get a second 335. This was going to be the color. They now call it Barbera Red Metallic. Looks identical to me.

Sure looks like the same... Since the vast majority of all MINI's were special order in 2003 and the color just doesn't display well on the configurator charts not many people hit the select button and the color was soon dropped. I noticed the same thing on the BMW site. You really need to see the color in the sun to appreciate it. Lots of MINI folks hated this 'brown" color. My favorite quote was "any color but brown." Ah well, good thing I bought it for me. Most MINI's are like ugly children and end up being loved anyway.

Bring back Solar Red and offer a more manly Yellow, a shade with a little bit of black mixed into it, so as to be not so flowery.

Burgundy sounds good. I saw a burgundy and orange paint job on a classic car (a Delahaye, IIRC) at Pebble Beach a few years back. It was pretty hot. So, MINI would have to do an orange roof.

How about starting black at the bottom and fading up through 256 shades of gray to a white roof? Photographers would like it.

The color I would like would be Crimson -- like Chili Red, but with just a touch of blue to give it a richer color.
