The Lowest Coil-Over Syetem

Hey people... I'm about to purchase two sets of C/O for a R53 and a R56. I wanted to know what is the C/O that can go the lowest for both cars? and I need opinions from people who have them if possible, the Megans are looking nice, but I'm not sure if I can tuck in the wheel if I want to.

Need help and need it fast people . I just want more flexibility for switching between a show car and a weekend inspired track car

thanks people

KW is a good bet for a slammed ride....and the V1's are a nice price. They could easily lay the car on the ground and still have some threads left.

Megans USED to go the lowest out there, but they changed some things and people couldn't even tuck 17s If you order megans just be sure to ask for the correct length shocks and springs. They've been sending out the new ones that go lower when asked.

If you're looking for track-ability I would probably lean more towards the KW's and getting the V2 if you want the adjustability for track tweaking.

Cross are nice as well because they lower independent of shock travel. I've never seen anyone truly slam a car on cross....there are a few people with a healthy drop, but I've never seen anyone close to the ground so I'm not sure what their limit is.

from the Madness site on the CROSS " adjustable ride height ranging from 0.5" to 2.5" drop"... will it be enough to tuck the top? I think KW is what Konky is running isn't it? How low can they go if so and who sells them? and anyone know if I order the lower springs on the Megans how low will they go also?

I know the CROSS is a nice set up, but don't wanna spend 5K now. I will if I have to, then on the R53 not R56.

Thanks for the reply Rally

What size wheels are on the cars? 2.5" should be enough to tuck as long as you aren't running 15s or 16s with short diameter tires.

Konky is running KW v1's...check out his new additions to his M|U thread as he just lowered it further. There is basically enough room to lower the car onto the ground if you were so inclined. He's easily tucking 17's with low-pro tires and he still has more room to go lower on the coils.

I'm not sure where the best place is to buy KW since your location is Kuwait, I'm sure you could source them from over there. KW is sold all over the place.

most people who buy Cross buy for actual performance, that's why you don't see them slammed. Others buy for looks. Perhaps it's just a different customer, that's why you don't see it.

I know I lowered mine quite a bit...still didn't scrap my driveway though. On PSS9's, I was scraping.

hahaha... I usually get my stuff from the states I'm about the only guy with a customized MCS and probably the fastest around here .

Who is a good vendor that sells the KW in your opinion anywhere in states? both cars are running 18" ... the R53 will be running 16 or 17 for the track though didn't decide on the wheel tire combo for the track yet

Performance wise, I know the CROSS are really good. I just wanted to see what other options are out there that can get the look that I want. as you know also... the R56 looks like a 4x4 with 18 and low profiles I need to get it low low low

still does anyone know how low are the megans withe the lower springs?

thanks guys for the help

K-Sport might be worth looking into. They run roughly ~$900 if you look hard enough. I spoke to a K-Sport rep and they drop approximately 3-3.4 inches. They say NO mods are necessary to the strut towers to get camber adjustment (unlike Megans or BC).

If not, I agree with Rally that the KW V2 will be your best bet for slammage and track adjustability.

EDIT - I noticed you added an 07 997S to your collection, NICE! Any mods on that?

Dude... leave the 997 alone let's keep that one stock for a few years at least. I had it for a while now, but the cost of modding any thing on that beast is an arm or a leg .

I'm moving out of the country for work, so the 997 and the H2 might have to go... taking the R53 with me (nice F1 track next door ) and probably will get a WRX STI even though I love the 997 (seriously, it's like a work horse)

now back on topic...

where did you find $900 KWs ? I think if you are right, it means that the KW will go 1" more than the Megans or the CROSS... but the other thing is that I might need camber plates for fine adjustments. the thing is I don't want to do a mistake like the springs and want to get a good deal for a nice set up that could last a while ... I hate wheel gap.

thanks guys and keep the info coming

PS: Wake... check your PM

K-Sport != KW. KW = made in Europe. K-Sport = Korea.

Yah I know....just saying I didn't know what they were capable of for those who are just in it for the style.

$900 isn't too crazy of a price for KW V1's I think.....a good vendor for KW stuff is www.eurostyleseast.com they get pretty decent prices...only 1k for the V1's. Sometimes they big KW sales where they knock a hundred or more off the price....but i dont know when the next one will be. You might want to check ebay as well.....sometimes distributors post up there.

They will definitely lower you enough to tuck 18's. I was running 15's with tires that were a little over 1 full inch smaller than stock and I was still tucking and had another 3/4" to go lower (if not more).

I'm sure my wallet don't mind spending a few more $$ for quality, not that those people don't have anything good, but just saying.

Haha post some pics of the 997. Check out the Porshce Sport Exhaust "mod." My friend did it to his 997 for ~$100 and it makes for a nice sounding exhaust. Basically weld a pipe that connects the pre-muffler pipe to the post-muffler pipe.

How much lower can you go on the H&R's?

Those stock diameter tires?
