So...For a few days I been working with a couple, trying to put together their special MINI Clubman...He liked Hot Chocolate but she wanted BRG they both agreed on HC Lounge leather, But OH OH..I said that is going to be a problem if you decided for the BRG, so we build a HOT Chocolate with Hot Chocolate interior, gorgeous!!

Got a call from him yesterday and asked me if I could try to change his color to BRG..I was like I thought we could not build this combo, so I tried again and as soon as I enter BRG the error combo window pop-up! "must remove Lounge leather".

BUT!!!!!!

Enter the choice again and guess what!!! I have a 2008 Clubman in British Racing Green with Hot Chocolate Lounge leather, something one can't option regulary. in the manual I order from it states clearly, HC Lounge Leather can not be build with Nightfire Red or BRG. goes to show you there is one option there and is hidden.

Will post pictures when the little gem arrives... And once again I have a very happy client and I learn something...

I wanted this combo when I ordered. I was very surprised when it was not allowed because IMHO this is a classic combo. However, I'm very happy with my LaB/S w/BLounge.

Alright! I didn't want to disclose anything since I'm a complete nubie here but it is great to see your post. I am the happy customer that diablito is referring to. This gentleman is a first-class act. You know, you feel pretty stupid when you tell someone else that you know something that maybe they don't, and it's their business, they do it day in and day out. Diablito was very patient with this "know-it-all" customer (me) and figured out how to place the order. I gain a little extra satisfaction knowing that maybe I helped him sell a few more cars down the road.

I'm really looking forward to the car and will post plenty of pictures once it arrives.

This trick is limited to the dearler order process? Not possible in the online web configurator? Also will it work for BGR and HC cloth/leather? ajm

 

FKE7 which is the code for Hot Chocolate Leather/cloth combo and T9E7 which is Lounge Leather in HC are not a possible combination with A67 (BRG) and 857 (NFR)
Is for sure not a choice online.

And as far I know is not really an option on the ordering process, but with Terry we lucked out and took the order, there was no trickery except punch the send button twice after we got rejected.

Not to be negative, but I wouldn't count on it going through until you get a confirmed build sheet documenting the combination.

 

Terry left with a signed copy of the print out I get as a confirmation that the order has been accepted by the system. so its a GO!

Nightfire Red/Silver is gorgeous but is a no go in the Clubman S. Initially, it was believed that Hot Chocolate was not going to be available in the Clubman S and MINI reversed this prior to the configurator going live late last year. And if you are a Mellow Yellow lover, you can not get it in the S model either.

 

No. There is a build sheet which comes from production that shows what is actually going on the car. The order confirmation isn't it. Theoretically, it is a go, but, I am suspicious.

but the striping is rubbish on a HC so I ditched them

 

While anything can change, anything can happen...I do know someone who has personally ordered and delivered this combo to customer(s).
