MTTS 2008, Chicago
Main info is here, at blog.minitakesthestates.com. July 25-27. Best anyone can tell, it starts in Chicago on Friday in or around Lincoln Park Zoo; then on Saturday there's a rally to Road America, where most of the events will be. Anything else is TBA. In the latest interview with Gina Koutrous of MINIUSA I believe she mentions that more info will be coming in the early part of May.
I think I heard tell there is a Milwaukee SCCA event going on that same weekend. Not sure what sorts of track opportunities there will be.

I'm not sure about staying in Chicago and driving to Elkart Lake the next day or just going directly to Elkark Lake on Saturday. I live about midway between. I hate to miss a good time in Chicago! But if the main event is in Elkart Lake, I would ba ableto spend more time there.
At the moment there isn't anything more other than what's been linked to previously in this thread. blog.minitakesthestates.com is where all the official information will be publicized--you can subscribe to get automatic updates if you're keen on staying on top of things.
Just an FYI to all, there will be a meeting spot in Milwaukee on Saturday, July 26th so that those who don't want to drive all the way South can join the caravan of MINIS that start their journey in Chicago in this area instead.
More details will be posted when we have confirmation of the route, and they will be posted also on http://www.milwaukeeMINIS.com
The key right now is to be sure to register for MTTS on the MINIUSA website. Don't forget to register - even though we don't know the complete details, we do know that it will be fun!

If anyone is planning on going to the Friday night barbeque at UIC, let me know... let's see if we can form a caravan -- and I'll look into finding a good non-trafficky route (the Tri-State is beginning to suck).
Not sure if i'll be going to Chicago or not on friday. I'll keep the UIC barbeque in mind if the weekend pans out.
Sometimes hwy 41 is a good drive to the Northeast part of Chicago. Right now the x-press way sucks with all the contruction and tolls. Mauberly, if you can keep me posted on your route plans, I may tag along if possible and visit my daughter in Chicago as well as go to some of the Chicago events.

I live near the state line, IL/WI and would take 94/294 down to 290 then east into UIC. Just a Thought. The Edens is a mess well into late summer.
