GO AVS!
GO AVS!
So who else follows the Avs? What a great series and how about those rookies stepping up.
It would be fun to meet up at Choppers down near Cherry Creek to catch a game or two of the second round. Even Champs at Aspen Grove on Sante Fe would be a good place to watch a game. We'll have to see who wins the other division.

Wendy and I are BIG Avs fans. Together with 3 other couples, we've owned season tickets since day 1. Now that the Avs have advanced to the 2nd round, our turn is up, so we'll be attending the next home game. The playoffs are so intense, it's the best time of year for the fans. Yes, it would be fun to have a group meet somewhere to watch the game on TV together. GO AVALANCHE!

I think it is going to be the Flames tonight which means you will have to root for the Avs at your games.

Count me in for an Av's game! I love hockey. It's right up there with college football for me! (I like the NFL too but I'm more of a college girl - go UT - Hook 'em!!)
Footer is my boy on the Av's and I am thrilled to bits that he's back!! I never gave up hope and never stopped wearing my #52 jersey! I even got to meet him and Sakic when Denver hosted the All Star Game. Happy day.
Go Av's!!!

I would love to see that!! I always enjoyed watching Blake's "butt check" move. Nothing like slamming your opponent into the boards with your backside.
About as much chance as the 04 Red Sox beating their rival Yankee's after loosing the first 3 to move on to the World Series. Ummmm, oh yea, the Red Sox won that Series and went on to win the WS! Hmmm. Maybe there is hope!
Got to firgure out a way to stay out of the penalty box and get more pressure on Osgood. The RW's are tough. As a team they're faster and pass better.

Sorry I have to root for the Wings, My son played for former Redwing Dave Barr...It has been a close series without getting dirty which after playing each other this many times is a miracle.
P.S. I just heard Forsberg just made the Swedish Summer Olympic team For...
DIVING....LMAO

Sorry I couldn't resist... My son and I had the real pleasure to meet Joe Sakic a few years back and what a class act...He spent about 25 minutes talking hockey and letting us take our picture with him. Afterwards I assumed it was his wife gave us there address to send the pics to...around 3 weeks later after we sent them to him we received a large box filled with a nice letter a signed Puck and which I still can't beleive to this day a signed Team Canada Jersey and also the photo with the two of them with a great inscription. It's hard to root against the Avs of that...But...back to the series, I think the Av's may take tonights game, but I can't wait till the Wings and the Stars go at it...talk about Hi-flying fast Hockey....
I can't believe how fast the Wings are. I think the only time the ice is even is when the Avs are on a power play.
I think Sakic is one of the few professional sports players kids could/should actually look up to. Actually hockey is pretty good that way except for some of the true brawlers.

Funny thing... We were able to meet Derek Boogard this past year... Talk about a great kid..soft spoken and kind of nerdy to be honest. You should see his hand though, nothing but one soild scar on both hands.
P.S. the game is just over, all I can say is...Damn

If they don't keep Sakic just for the leadership side I think you guy's in Denver will revolt. Other than that Theodore has shown a brilliant side but an otherwise average side at times(Just like Hasek) Foote also didn't impress me as much as he has in the past. The last few nights have really given you guy's a look at a team stacked with not only depth and but what good old-fashioned scouting can do for you... Zetterburg and Datsuyk were picked up in the later part of the first or second rounds, also look at Fippula a new young one picked up for a song. Detroit has probably the best European scouting system in the NHL ,others can learn from what and how they operate. I think they only way they lose this year is by a big bruiser team that just wears them down (That is if they can catch them) The Dallas series should be a good one..The wild card will be Turco though, he has played well so far but as the AV's found out the Redwings can make a good goalie look bad very quickly.
Also, as for Forsberg. Let him go. Thank God he turned down the Redwings. He really was more hinderance than help to you guy's. He's not getting the calls he used to be able to draw (DIVING) now thats he's older, and I feel his injuries in the past are really starting to catch up with him.
