New, Rebuilt or Used

Time to replace my P/S pump on my 03 Cooper. I can by a new one at $455, get mine rebuilt at $200 or a used one at $355. My tendency is to forget the used (don't know what your getting) but my experience with rebuilts has not been stellar- do I bite the bullet with a new one (has anyone seen new ones cheaper or take my chances with the rebuilt. Any experiences out their would be appreciated.

rebuilds are usually the way to go, you usually get a better warranty then new, and obvoisly you save alot.

I have not had a pump rebuilt but mostly have alternators rebuilt. The quality has always been first rate.

I have an 02 MC w/ 74K and my p/s pump either has a faulty modular control or relay in it...thus I am forced with buying another p/s pump as well...where could we find a reliable rebuild p/s pump from .. or one that is cheaper than the $600+ my dealer is quoting me for the part...any input is appreciated

New, Rebuilt or Used

After looking at prices, guarantees etc. I have decided to go rebuilt - specifically BBA Remanufacturing - they will rebuild my pump - guarantee it as long as I own my Mini (little do they know I had my previous vehicle for 17 years) for $200 plus shipping. The down side is that I have to remove my pump for them to rebuild although they promise a 2-3 day turnaround.
