Passport/Escort 9500

I just upgraded from an older Escort unit to the 9500. Just a few neat things about it. Since it uses GPS it can store locations and ignore radar emitters you select to be ignored. That way the door opener at the Kwikie Mart or grocery store doesn’t go off every time you go past. That also eliminates a cop ambushing you by sitting next to the door opener and nailing those of us who ignore the alert because we assume it’s the same one we’ve seen a hundred times. It can also give you a GPS speed readout. A great way to check your speedometer. It has a voltmeter function that will give you all the info you get from an actual gauge.

I got mine very cheaply. It retails for $450 but since my local Sharper Image is going out of business I got it for 30% off.

I can vouch for the 9500i... I own the 8500 x50, but I had my buddies 9500i in the car and WOW!!!

Lets just say that he is bringing it down to MOTD with us... Defiantly has saved my MANY times..

The 9500i has not failed me yet. It is amazingly quiet but effective. My wife always jokes that it isn't working whenever I brag how quiet it is.

I like to keep it on the voltmeter display now since I have another GPS gadget, the Navalert, that displays the speed.

They said it would take 6 weeks to get my passport. But it only took two.

Are you talking about an actual passport? If so, how about actual escorts?

Yeah, but back to your comment, the us government always seems to process my passports much quicker than they say. I guess that way we can't complain and will only be pleasantly surprised.

You can get escorts on an hour's notice. Or right away if you go to their place of business (although it may be slim pickins).

Back in Feb. I ordered my 9500 fron Escort on a Mon. morning and had it on Thur. afternoon. I thought my 8500X50 was great but the 9500 is much better.

I was wondering how may posts before a V1 enthusiast spoke up. I do wish I had arrows to play with.
