HELP!!! what type of adhesive?

Well hell. I'm so extremely frustrated and upset right now. During an install of a part that has questionable benefit (cabrio braces), I dropped the little hex-screw drive bit down into the car. After I was done. But, I didnt' like the way I'd routed the wired OVER the brace, so I thought I'd just take the brace off, re-route the harness, and be done.

Well, during this I dropped the stupid hex bit and decide I needed to jack the stupid F'ing car up to retrieve from underneath. While doing so, I had the car about a foot up and it fell off the jack. I wasn't being cautious enough, I suppose.

Anyway, the jack went into the side skirt and broke a significant chunk of it clean off. It's about I donno, 8" wide on top, 4" wide on the bottom. Kinda trapezoidal piece.

So, I'm looking at what, a thousand dollars in repair because of this stupid F'ing thing. Great.

Well, it looks like I can take the piece and glue it back in for now. Anybody have advice on what type of adhesive to use? I'm so angry at myself right now I could punch a hole in my own head.

Glue isn't going to work I'm afraid. A new side skirt will run you about 200 Dollars, less on eBay, then get it sprayed and installed.

Ebay? This is a JCW skirt. Someone sells JCW skirts on Ebay?

It's from the JCW Aero Kit, they pop up from time to time. I'm only making suggestions, worst case scenario, it's not going to break 400 dollars from new if you have to replace it from your local MINI dealer.

I was just quoted $320 per side, plus paint and install. That is from Desert Mini of Las Vegas (I hate Desert, they are the reason I replaced my BMW with a Honda, and not another Mini).

Anyone got a good hookup for these?

That stinks... I would call Morristown Mini in NJ, they usualy have good prices, ask for internet parts (INTERNET PARTS). They shiped my areo kit to NY for $60. Maybe they can help you out,if not, you can always put back you stock rocker panels.

You could also place an add in the want to buy section of the market place. they are in there every once in a while. You could try to apply tape to the back and maybe a thin coat of clear silicone to seal it up. Not the prettiest solution, but better than a big hole.

Well, I don't have stock rocker panels, the aero-kit was installed at the dock in CA before the car was shipped to my dealer for pickup... :/
