That is a very good question. When I was down there last October I could not bring myself to wash my car even when I found a wash that was open. A little honest road dirt from motoring looks good on our cars.
As long as there is running water within 50 miles of Fontana Village, I'll have a clean MINI. Even if I have to carry it to my MINI using pans from the cabin.
Just got off the phone with the good people at Fontana Village and they tell me that the car wash area will be fully operational for "Pure Silver Cabrios ONLY".
Just kidding of course... Its fully operational without restriction for everyones use.

DIY...it'll consist of a connected hose, period. Bring all your car washing gear or buy it there.
I wonder if the car wash area will be next to the putt-putt or over by the old registration bldg. I guess I'll find out.
Bring spare shoes with you to the wash area... in '06 the grass near the wash area got kinda saturated from several hundred MINI washes. The cars were on pavement, but if you had to venture into the grass to turn off the water, it was a bit swampy. No point in tracking mud into a clean MINI! :D

One year there was an impromptu one near my room. Maintenance accidentally left a hose connected. There were cars there constantly!
