Due to the drought in parts of NC will the car wash in Robbinsville be open

or any other ones in the area?

More important, Will the car washing area be there?
Gots to keep the "Baby" clean!!

There is nothing more unappealing then a dirty MINI.

That is a very good question. When I was down there last October I could not bring myself to wash my car even when I found a wash that was open. A little honest road dirt from motoring looks good on our cars.

Hope so, otherwise the detailing sessions with OctaneGuy won't fly.

Yep... QD won't cut it after almost 1000 miles from home to MOTD!

How will anyone see the true sparkle from 200 coats of Zaino if I can't get the road grime off?

As long as there is running water within 50 miles of Fontana Village, I'll have a clean MINI. Even if I have to carry it to my MINI using pans from the cabin.

Just got off the phone with the good people at Fontana Village and they tell me that the car wash area will be fully operational for "Pure Silver Cabrios ONLY".

That is good news. Nice to know the people down there have reservoirs with water in them this year.

DIY...it'll consist of a connected hose, period. Bring all your car washing gear or buy it there.
I wonder if the car wash area will be next to the putt-putt or over by the old registration bldg. I guess I'll find out.

Car Wash

+1 for the thanks to Fontana.

I'll be happier with clean windows for the drives! Hopefully, it won't rain and ruin all of our hard work.

Bring spare shoes with you to the wash area... in '06 the grass near the wash area got kinda saturated from several hundred MINI washes. The cars were on pavement, but if you had to venture into the grass to turn off the water, it was a bit swampy. No point in tracking mud into a clean MINI! :D

One year there was an impromptu one near my room. Maintenance accidentally left a hose connected. There were cars there constantly!

The unit under the cabana rooms has a spigot handy. Last year I was in room 129 and brought my hose pipe and kit- worked great!

Until I turned in my bingo card at the FW dinner- I never did locate Detailer's Paradise until Sunday.
