Can you fit a 17" laptop in the glove compartment?

I don't have a Clubman yet but I'm curious whether you can or not. Last I could remember test driving it, the glove compartment was huge. But I'm not so sure about the capacity. I'd really like to haul my laptop in it when I'm doing a city brave or out of town journey. Any current Clubman owners want to answer this request? Thanks.

No way it'll fit. Put it in the area under the boot floor. Nice and hidden from view. Thats where I hide mine when I'm not in the car.

I've owned many cars and trucks and don't recall one that will hold my 17" laptop....

My wife drives an 05 F150 and it won't fit in there. What the hell were you driving before you ordered the Mini that will hold a 17" laptop?? A Bently or Rolls drophead coupe maybe?? LOL

That is a good idea to put it in the boot (trunk, right?). But as far as easy access it would be inconvenient. The glove compartment release uses a quick open-shut mechanism (not really advanced .. more like a hinge .. wished it was hydraulic that would be awesome of all awesomes) so I would think it would not hold an 8 lb object well. Thanks for the input.

I'm still lost at what this means.

This is not specifically directed to T&CMCSa but to everyone. I was hoping someONE would post a picture of the glove compartment(s). Opened. And closed. We are talking about the bottom storage, right? Not the hidden dashboard storage.

I appreciate the suggestion, but those devices aren't for me. They are quite dated with capacity, software, and overall usability.

Easy access? So you want to use your 17" computer while driving down the road and endangering the rest of us? Come on now, you know thats not safe.

As far as the 8lb glovebox deal, I'm sure if you put an 8lb bag of nuts and bolts in there, it will fit and the glovebox might hold it (you can test yours when you get it, I'm not testing mine), but a computer isn't happening.

In the back of your Clubman, the floor under the 'trunk' lifts up, there's nice hidden storage under there....and then the floor of the 'hidden' storage lifts up too for a spare tire. If you ordered 'run flats' with yours, you will not have a spare tire.....lotsa space in there too. Enjoy the Clubman. They're lotsa fun!!
