Kleen wheels

I know that generally folks think these things are kinda ughly and I think I'm of that belief as well but I wondered if anyone has these on a Cooper and has a picture to share. Bigger the wheel the better for me to judge just how noticeable they really are...

Boy I hate brake dust, and I have low-dust pads!

Thanks for any pics

i was thinking about getting those---and i was QUICKLY talked out of it. apparently they overheat your brakes bc theres not enough air getting to them. (i think thats what he told me?? )

and when he went to the track to race his MINI, the track people told him he HAD to remove them ASAP

I totally believe that... as for the other responses, not surprised I really don't want them, I'm just SO sick of brake dust...

Go to the OCD "detailing 101" section, I think they have a product that is used over there to keep the brake dust down a bit and make it easier to clean.

Just get better brake pads. There are pads that don't dust... I believe one of the EBC pads that aren't "high performance" are ultra low dust. I have a set on my GS300 and will be installing them on the Mini sometime this year.

+1 - get good pads (Hawk ceramics and EBC Greenstuff pads are both supposed to be very low dust), a good wheel cleaner (Meg's Wheel Brightener rocks), and good wheel wax (Prima Wheel Shield works well, just make sure whatever you use that it's FOR wheels and can take high temps).

The Wheel Brightener works so well for me that I don't even use wheel wax anymore.

dustless pads

I know everyone on this forum is a big fan of EBC, and Mintex, and Hawk, but if you do not race or autocross and want brake pads that a just as good as the OEM pads, will not squeal, have good feel, last a long time and do not dust, repeat, do not dust your wheels, consider PBR/Axxis Deluxe Plus pads. $40 some per axle.

They have the slots for your wear sensors and the factory wire clips for the rear pads to boot.

Then you can forget cleaning your wheels just because of the dust. Here is a link to the front set.

ebc greens' in my experience proved to be no better than stock performance, just lighter dusting and no squealing.
