Backseat room: Cabrio v Clubman v 135

Ok, here's the question: Can anyone compare the back seat space between my current 05 MCSC, a new Clubman, and the new BMW 135?

Here's why I ask: (1) too lazy to look up and compare the numbers. (2) desire for 'real world' views.

I'm going to get down the car seat as it is now 2 months till the next new arrival. I keep my seat well back as I have long legs and one of them recovering from being busted. I know that it is very uncomfortable either for my son (4 years old also with long legs) or me if he sits behind me. I'm wondering how comfortable I'm going to be with a rear facing car seat behind me. If I can't get comfortable with the drop top I'm looking at the other two as plan B.

TIA for any input,
Tony

I don't know about the BMW, however the Clubman has a lot. I'm average and my wife and I have plenty of room when we tested it out.

The BMW will be smaller than the Clubman. It will also feel much smaller.

The Clubman has RADICALLY more backseat legroom than the cabrio. I sat in the back of a Clubman last week just to try it out. My cabrio is marginally OK for my kids... but not really practical for adults. Four adults could ride in the Clubman fairly comfortably.

I'm thinking about the possibility of a Clubman for a daily driver in a couple of years and promote my cabrio to weekend roadster status... more practical as my boys become teens and need more space...

I didnt drive the Cabrio, but I drove the MCS and Clubman. I am 6'4" and my wife is 5'9". She sat behind me on the test drive in the Clubman. She was comfortable and still had leg room. And I had the seat kicked all the way back. The MCS, it wasnt happening. My 5 year old wouldn't fit behind me. The back of the seat practically touched the front of the rear seat.

For obvious reasons, we bought the Clubman.

I dont know about the BMW, but thats my experience with Mini to Clubman.

135 is smaller than my MCS.
Went and looked at the 135 today and there is less space than in the MINI. Leg room may be close but head room is less because of the slanted rear window. I was wanting to get more room because my kids are not happy now with the space in the MINI.

Asked about the 135 because I read somewhere that it had more rear seat room than the clubman. Didn't sound right to me and it seems like that is the consensus here. Gonna get the old graco out of the attic soon and see how it goes.

The Clubman has more room in the back versus both the hard top and the Cabrio. We've had several full size adults in the back of the Clubman and they all commented how comfortable they were and didn't feel squished at all..

May be stats vs. real space.
My 300ZX 2+2 had more statistical space but the MINI has more usable human space.

I may get the 135 anyway and let the kids complain.
(Only if the wife lets me keep the MINI also.)

I missed the 1 series party at our local dealership. I would've liked to have seen it up close.

I have an '07 cabrio that I'm trading in tomorrow on my 08 clubman. The cabrio has lots of leg room for infants in car seats or double amputees (no negatives intended). With my seat back at moderate distance, there's about 2" between seat back an back seat.
