My Car Just Zapped. Requiring help!!! Someone.
So I'm at my friends house right now. It's down pouring like no other. As we're getting ready to leave, I ran to my car, sticked the key in the ignition and started my car like normal. Except this time the light blinked on and turned off. Period. I tried cranking it a couple times and nothing, the car locking mechanism is dead, the window won't roll up or down. Last time when my battery was low, the window atleast still went up and down and there was some hint of light. This time it is straight up nothing. I'm thinking it's a fried/dead battery. I'm going to fix this tomorrow, but does anyone have any clue to what it might be, besides the battery? Thanks, any feedback is appreciated.
Worst case, somehow moisture got into the harness at some point and it fried itself when power was applied although that is a long shot. It's more than likely a dead battery. With cars like ours, when the battery goes, so does everything.
wouldn't the battery get low first and then zap/fry? i jsut change this battery about a month or 2 ago. but i sure hope this is just a dead battery. whats a moist harness? if my key was moist, would that effect anything?
I agree with Warped. Check your battery connections. Undo them, clean them and make sure they're tight when you put them back on. If still no juice, take that battery back to the place you got it from and have them test it.

During MTTS I got caught in a thunderstorm in Flagstaff with a dead battery. It was completely dead. Nothing showed any sign of life. The car was then 3 years old. Two years later, and the new battery is still going strong. I feel your problem is nothing more than a dead battery. Get a new one. I bet it will be trouble free.

When you start off at 7,500 feet your are very close to the lightning.
alright guys, it's fixed, emergency is over. turns out the positive connection was completely off the battery. No idea how it just popped off. But I didn't check last night cuz of the heavy down pour. Checked it out today, got it fixed in no time. The baby revved to life in a heart beat. Thanks for everone's input.
