I can't make it to this year's MOTD but I'll be there next year, I just reserved my place at Fontana!

 

Same here, I transfered my '08 reservation to '09

 

Ok , we are booked in for the hotel next year.. depending on if we like camping... we will have the room again for someone else.

 

I was there last year, but like the people who have posted before me I will not be able to make until next year. But I have something BIG planned. BIG.

people book the rooms, but end up cancelling.. did you get on the list?

Think I might pass this up this year. Thinking about motoring to Mexico. Trying to get it lined up.

I have relocated to Massachusetts, but may end up making the drive down for 2009. Hope to see you all again!!

 

I have put myself on the waiting list for Fontana, but is it a good idea to have another place reserved in standby? For this event, is it better to stay closer to Fontana, or closer to the Dragon?

 

Fontana is where all the vendors and functions except running the Dragon. if you can't get in the lodge they have several hundred cabins for rent. There is also a campground just outside Fontana Village.

whenever David and i are at the house in pv.... we always swear we would NEVER drive our mini in mexico.. the roads.. in the cities suck.. even if we retired to pv.. we would never ruin a mini there

 

When should I be booking a spot? Like what date I wanna be prepared.

 

Thing 71 asap. Welsh Dragaon not looking to go to the tourist spots. I would really like to rent SUV and travel thru SA. I only have concerns about the terriost and robbers than are alwalys on the prowl in certain countries. I may be dreaming but one on the things on my bucket list. Now looks like I am going to the Dragon with Doc. He has a room and is also scheduled to work that weekend, so I will take up his slack if he can't make it. SA is only country that I haven't been too and worst comes to worst would just as soon go back to Australia. Been to several towns there but not the west coast. Been most everywhere in Europe that I wanted to see and the fareast which isn't really my cup of tea, except Thailand. Just dreaming but alot of my dreams come true because I make them!!

 

Making my reservations tomorrow!!! I'm gonna get a campsite. Us college kids cant afford the expensive rooms. Who else will be out there camping with us? Also I am going up there for the whole weekend this time!!! Woot woot.

 

I am going to try to make it this year, last year I missed it as my sister was getting married. A friend has a cabin close by in Bryson City so I will probably stay there and just shoot over during the day.

Just booked for the Microtel in Robbinsville, I'll be coming up on Thursday and will be there through the weekend (presuming I can get the time off from work, but shouldn't be a problem.)
