Question regarding bell sound...

Every so often while driving I will hear a ding (bell sound) from kulmini but I am unable to associate that sound with an event. Anyone out there have an idea as to what it could be, no problems or warnings are noted immediately after the sound.

Thanks for your help!

All MINIs have an ice warning if the outside temperature falls below 37 degrees. It's just on startup, lasts a few seconds and is accompanied by the temperature flashing above the tach - if the temp is what is currently on display there.

the temp should flash regardless of what you have displayed. it will chime at 37 and again if temps drop below 32. Mine flashes the 37 or 32 even when I have it set on speedo. it took me a while to figure out what it was too.

Doesn't only happen at start-up -- if temp falls below 37 while driving, it will chime. It takes me 5 minutes to pull out of the work garage, and it'll chime when I hit the cold outside after driving for that period of time.

Gotta love places where they only hear the temp warning "ding" comes so infrequently, MINIacs don't even know what it is or at what temp it happens.

I really have to move to New Mexico.
