R56 JCW Stage 1 kit Canadian Availability

Just got in contact with the parts department of the local MINI dealer in Ottawa to get pricing details of the Stage 1 kit. The parts dept tells me that he has a part number but the computer shows "No longer available, review in progress".

Does this make any sense to anybody ?

Computer always says that. Parts mgr. has to call and give them your VIN number. Should be available. Same thing happened to me in US. Just took a phone call to fix it.

The sales folks in Victoria were raving about the "great" JCWl prices and said they had a car coming with kit items. Wanted to give me the shiny brochure (without prices), but I'm not in the market right now so I didn't follow up. Perhaps try sales rather than parts; they may not be speaking to each other.

I know both dealerships in Vancouver can and have gotten the Stage 1 kit, and installed them on cars.

That being said, they couldn't get the JCW Suspension kit until January so ...

Thanks guys.

I'll give them a call. Now why do I have to explain this to them I wonder...
Just being cynical.

As crazy as this sounds--these message boards tend to have info on a more timely basis than dealers. Additionally, some dealerships have shown limited interest in pursuing items they can not sell immediately.

This is not the first case w/ BMW. Roadfly broke the
BMW bearing replacement/engine warranty extension
before the dealers even acknowledged a problem.

I guess you're right emtrey.

Gear heads like us tend to conglomerate on forums like this one And more often than not, we end up knowing more than the people working at the dealerships.
