:: Out Motoring :: I've had enough of the "cute"

I wish I had a dollar for every time some 20 something girl next to me at the gas station decided to call my very MANLY and mean looking MINI "cute". I mean come on, it's not a puppy. It's not a fluffy scarf. It's not a 8 month old baby. It's a mean rally machine with heritage and muscle and style that has more emotion wrapped into the design than nearly any other car on the planet.

Is my car "cute"?

So, I decided to do something about it. Enter the "it's not cute, it's mean" shirt. While I can't really wear one every time I go to the gas station, maybe just once I can silently point to my shirt the next time I hear it...

Who else has "cute" stories or experiences? Stand up and be heard. Enough is enough.

If the girl's attractive, I don't mind her calling my car cute, remember a rabid puppy can be cute too.

I allow females between the ages of 18-20 to call my MINI cute They can call it what ever they want if they look good. I prefer the term sporty, but only because it is a plain Cooper, but someday I hope it is mean.

That's a good one. I must keep that in the back of mind... but as my "cute" wife says to me all the time "you need to make sure you run your thoughts through that internal filter that most people have before talking" (which I don't have...an internal filter.....).....

"Yeah, it's cute like a snub-nosed 38" is my personal favorite. Thought not politically correct in all circles...

20 something FTW..... =)

I don't mind when a 20 something girl calls my MINI cute. Heck they are talkin to me & how cool is that?

I have an external filter. I say what pops in my head & then look at the reactions of those I'm talking to. Then filter with a bit of humor. Rinse & repeat.

I've had mine called cute multiple times (its a cabrio on top of it all)

working on all I can to get rid of that image, but I think it has more to do with the size. Small things (such as babies and puppies) are inherently "cute" to humans, even if that small thing has 200+ horsepower, is lowered, all blacked out, and killer...

Just the way peoples brains work.

Yeah Aaron, it's cute. Maybe it's the color that does that. Now DS/B, that's not cute. Been spyin' that grille conversion on your site to make mine even less cute. C'mon tax refund!

jk y'know.

To this day i still get tons of stares wherever I drive in the MINI and trust me they are not looking at me! I think the Italian Job saved the car from becoming completely unacceptable for any self conscience male to drive. If they had done a big 'release' of the MINI in a movie like Enchanted or Sleepless In Seattle I would bet most of us would be afraid to drive the MINI....

Love it! Just ordered it too. How about a window sticker of the same image?

"CUTE" is no longer in my vocabulary. if it is ever used it is in a very lewd and crude way...use your imagination.

Re: my MINI. I'd have to accept if someone called it cute; it is Electric Blue with a white top afterall!

Cute t-shirt Aaron!

Maybe offer both and see which one sells best? I'd like the same image as the Tee

Any 20 something ladies around here (in a predominately retirement town) are too stuck up to say anything, so enjoy it! Maybe it's because mine is Chili Red.
Nice shirt.

Never been called "Cute" after the CF Bonnet and Eye Make Over, in fact I swapped MINI's with a local and found myself looking in the rear view thinking I should get out of the way of that Bad A$$ MINI.
