The factory 15"tires look too skinny. I think they are 175's. I would switch to at least 195's if you want to keep the radials on 15" size.

Call me boring - I just stick with what they give me as "standard" until they wear out. As usual, it's different strokes for different folks.

Those tires (with 4K rotations) will last you a long time. I am also sticking to my 16"runflats. Boring according to some hard core enthusiasts!

I just wanna gauge whether the 15" size looks too small on the new clubman. If not I'll be sticking with the 8.5" wide wheels I currently have on my MINI. That should be a bit wider than the 175s

Thanks Otra for the pic....anyone else have 15's? I'm sure it's bit less common as it seems most cars are coming with the sport package, and 15's don't even fit the S.

To me personally, 15" tires and rims do not look nearly as good in the second gen MINI as they did in the 1st gen car. My '02 MC CVT had 15" (Continental radials, very good tires) and it came from the factory with 175/65 R15 rubber and the now defunct R82 8-spoke wheels (I never liked the 7 holies offered at the time). When the original tires worn down, I replaced them with 195/55 R15 Continental radials and the handling did improve due to the wider footprint. The car looked better because of the slightly lower profile, too. But 15" wheels in the R56 and R55 don't work for me visually. I guess the taller beltline of the current cars and the ticker wheel arches (And bigger wheel wells) almost force you to go 16"-17"-18" route. But man, those 15"radials are dirt cheap and last forever with 4K mile interval rotations.

Nice color combination - haven't seen a PW Clubman with the white roof - it looks quite good. I probably would not ever notice the tire size.

Okay, well now I think that the clubmans (clubmen?) look better than the R56 coupe from the back, and also better than from the front.

Zip

astra - Thanks for posting that picture of the white with white roof. I have been going back and forth on getting a black versus white roof, and after seeing yours, I'm sold on white. Just put my deposit down today, with the order hopefully getting placed on Friday.

I just picked up my base Clubman with the 15" rims, and I agree they're not nearly as sexy as the 16" and 17" options. However, as far as "filling in" the wheel wells, my understanding is that all of the tire/wheel choices are the same overall height, so I guess the other sizes give the appearance of fitting better in those wheelwells, they don't actually take up any more vertical space. I stuck with the 15" wheels because I really don't care for runflat tires. I will be switching to a 195 width from the 175 width once the Continentals need replacing, but that's a couple of years down the road.

Right now it's raining on my Clubman , but I'll post some pics the next sunny day! I thought the Climate Package was supposed to prevent my car getting rained on, but I was mistaken as to its capabilities.

Cars are meant to be enjoyed. Let it get rained! A couple of years ago, some friends of ours purchased a new MINI. They treat the car like a museum piece. It doesn't get driven in the rain, in fact, I don't think the car gets driven ever! I think the MINI is too much fun of a car to relegate it to the role of garage "centerpiece". I just don't think you can't ever get to fully enjoy a car that spends time locked up in a garage. Hey, but that's me!

I agree it is fun to drive what we own. I even try to drive my 66 ford f100 2wd 1/2 ton truck at least once a week. It has a 3 speed on the column with overdrive, no power anything which makes it even more fun.

Nice truck! The other day I saw a Ford F100 like yours here in Miami but it was modded, custom paint, wheels nicely done. A head turner for sure!
