Tire wear and wandering

I've noticed the outsides of my front tires are getting pretty smooth- I've tried to keep the pressure regulated (too much aggesive cornering!?) and I have also noticed the front ends wants to wander under acceleration and at low speeds lately. It's kind of like torque steer but might also be realted to the tires following the road surface.

So it looks like new tires pretty soon but do I also need to have the front end addressed?

Check the Front Lower Control Arm Bushings. They may be shot.

I've never set a toe- is this something you do on your own or do you have it done?

It has to be done at an alignment shop. I would also consider getting some camber plates. It will help even the wear across the tire, given the way we drive these cars, the plates can help double your tire life.

Your tires wanting to follow the irregularities in the road, is called "Tramlining," and it happens with brand new tires also.

Yeah, I noticed the Tramlining effect with my first set of Runflats and when I replaced them, it was gone on the same stretch of highway where I would noticed it. Or was it my imagination.....? I'll check again in about 10 minutes on my way home with the new snow tires.
