Problem calibrating G-Tech SS pro

I have a G-tech SS Pro performance computer and it will not calibrate the rpm's through the MINI's cigarette lighter. Has anyone had this problem?

Yes - the power supplied to the cigarette lighter socket in the MINI is so well-filtered that the G-Tech can't reliably detect the engine RPMs. I struggled with the calibration process for a while before realizing this.

If you use a hardwired power connection to the fusebox, the G-Tech will sense the engine RPM flawlessly.
