I've currently got Koni yellow struts/ blue springs fitted to my Mini. AFAIK, the spring hats had to be drilled to fit the larger diameter of the Koni struts. I'm about to pull the trigger on some Koni coilovers (1150s) but was wondering whether I'd also need to replace the hats?

Its pretty standard practice to enlarge the hole. You should not need to replace them unless there is something wrong with them.
