importing to Canada

Hi,

I am wanting to buy a cooper s convertible and import it to Canada. Has anyone on this site done this?

Cars in Canada must display kms, and daytime running lights are needed. Does the csc have this already? Any idea what it costs to make the changes?

Any hepl most appreciated.

Cheers,
Mat

Yes, the convertibles show km on the speedo, and drl are able to be enabled via a computer programming setting.

You can even have the climate control show Celsius.

You're welcome.

I actually did the opposite with my previous car 8 years ago. I bought a car in Canada and before it was delivered, I moved to the US. So I had it shipped from Halifax to NC. Wasn't a big deal. Just freaked people out when we were driving on the highway and they looked at the speedo to see were were doing 120 (km) and they think it's mph.

I think you might even be able to program the trip computer to display in Km for gas consumption, distance to empty, etc. But I'm not positive.

Cheers

You will also need to install a Maple Syrup pump and a back bacon fryer.
One more thing you will need a ski rack for those cool July days.

Welcome.

Here is a link over on the Canada forum, hopefully this will help:https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=120495

Do a google search of government regs on this issue, as Canada changed the rules not to long ago.

Welcome to NAM, eh
