i feel like it would have to have power going to 4 wheels to accelerate like that on dirt... SICK!

Well, if you want to do that:
-source out some custom suspension, maybe ohlins, meant for rally
-Fender Flares, big ones
-AWD Conversion
-Twin turbo, and custom tune to create gobs of torque

This is all i can gather from the vid anyway

How can you tell it's AWD or twin turbo? Not exactly like the exterior nor engine note gave that away.

didnt look like awd to me it didnt kick up much dirt when it took that right hand sweeper in the second movie near the end. With good tires and good course conditions I could see a fwd accelerating that quickly. But I might be wrong, who knows. Untill someone finds some technical data on it we wont know for sure.

Guys,

To post an embedded YouTube video, you just need to hit the button, which will insert (YOUTUBE) and (/YOUTUBE) codes into your post, only using square brackets instead of (). Then, put in the video's ID between those codes.

The video ID is the part of the original YouTube URL that goes RIGHT AFTER /watch?v=. However, don't include the &feature=related part, because that isn't part of the video ID.

So - in the case of TurboMini, the ID is BqfdqKpQFHA. In the case of nabeshin, the ID is 5Du8KOn2NT. Why not go back and edit your posts to give it a try?

You don't think that the car might kick up less dirt with awd since the wheels would be spinning less because it has more traction? Look at the turn in the second vid around the 46 sec. mark... It really seems like there is dirt coming from the back wheels as if there was power going to them...

I've been to a couple rallycross events and wished someone had the guts (or stupidity or disposable income) to run his Mini in the dirt. I think it would be bitchin'.

I got the Twin Turbo, from the video title, it said that it was Mini Cooper "TT". I was guessing that meant "T"win "T"urbo.

Someone needs to make a wide body like that for a street car. It looks like it could be pretty cool.

DMS makes a 50mm 'Gravel' coilover for the MINI meant for big hit rally work. MSRP = $4500. You wouldn't need AWD, but proper suspension, 15" rally wheels with dirt rally tires, but I'd agree....that wasn't a FWD car launching like that (note he stalled it at first)

It could be
2nd Gen Audi TT drive-train Wheelbase 97.2 in
1st Gen MINI Cooper Wheelbase 97.1 in
So hence MINI TT

the second vid shows '2L V8' and it sure sounds more like one than a TT 1.6L. TT could mean 'time trial' or 'Tourist Trophy' like the Manx TT.

Yes but the Manx TT is a motorcycle race. There is a Manx rally in the British championship, but that is an all paved road event.

Nice video, too bad it's so darn short.

sounds to me like a Formula motor....especially given the 'V8 2L' title of that vid

That looks incredibly fun and just as expensive. Still, if I had the money and time I wouldn't hesitate. That is, unless, I could build a better car that would be more fun for a similar cost...

If the car is AWD, I'd rather just build a subie. If it is still FWD (which id really didn't apear to be) then I think it'd be fun and not too expensive.
