Inspection light

I have a 2002 cooper and my inspection light came on the other day, what does it mean? Is this a routing maintenance light? What needs to be done? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

It means your car is due for a service.could be an oil dump or timing belt and spark plugs.How many mile do you have?(on your car)

I live in Canada(metric system) Im guessing 80k miles is 140km ish and thats
getting close to timing belt time.Or ligthing your wallet $800 time.
