What is your average speed around exit ramps or twisty roads?
Hey guys what is your average spend around exit ramps or nice twisty roads before and after suspension work?

I haven't had a chance to try out my last mods (eg h-sport springs), winter :-(
but with just wheels and tires (see sig) double the suggested speed for trucks is well below the limit, take truck speed, double and add ten and it is mildly entertaining, on ramps where there is no truck speed, i am definitely limited by horsepower not grip LOL
before the new wheels and tires when i was all stock, i was still below the limit, but had to be mostly awake LOL
using my g-tech lateral grip went up about .1Gs +/- 0.02Gs (circle test)

I NEVER do the sugested exit ramp speed! I only do it when there is a car in front of me! LOL! For the lack of JustaCooper I have I usally have to down shift a lot and floor it the get the most out of the car. But I think it makes the car more fun to drive!
50-60 mph
the reason is simply that I've ridden motorcycles so long I never assume there is traction on a piece of pavement until I've driven it once, and I seldom bother to repeat ramps
or in another way, i try not to commit the car past the point that I can see
it's saved my life a few times...
that is why I autocross!
(but to your original question, GTech records a baseline lateral g load of about .86 for the original car, and these days I pull 1.1g - still on street rubber)
camber plates, h&r coil overs, 15x7 kosei R1, rear lower control arms, rear sway bar -- in other words, mildy prepped for the SCCA STX class

particularly with the rocket you're driving!!
[ok, i'll quit preaching to the choir]

On ramps and exit ramps, fast enough that I need to go full plume on the brakes at the exit to merge safely.
On twisty roads like the Dragon, fast enough to understand why the limit on that road used to be 55 and that the heavy enforcement is justified.
Stock well broken in suspension, R99s with slightly over sized non-RF tires, been in need of alignment for over a year, I've done track time and learned the limits of the car and stay well within those limits and just have fun with it, it's more a matter of getting the smoothest line through it all, added the shift light and now it's safer and easier for me to live just underneath the rev limiter (above 5k all sounds the same to me and I no longer need to look down).

Warp 7. Maybe 8 on a known corner and dry pavement.
Commonly 2x the "suggested" corner speed - IF I have a clear line of sight sufficient for braking... Otherwise never drive faster than you can see...
But, as others have said, I've done enough track and clear road time to understand the limits of the car - and I keep it safely below those limits 99.9% of the time... But there are some witnesses who have seen that 0.1%...

On average, twice the posted speed limit seems to work out most of the time. Yes .... I do proceed with caution.
Sometimes faster if I have an idiot on my tail. It's great to watch them go into panic mode.
Wife knows how to hold on!!
She is my primary ABS. It is always a compliment when my driving is compared to a roller coaster ride, or my aerobatic piloting skills.

...oh yeah... and this is in a bone-stock '03 TDI wagon...
Before we got a second MINI so I could drive runs myself, I would tag along the back in the TDI... and in our group, the back is where the... um... faster drivers hang... I never - and I mean NEVER - had trouble keeping up with them through twisties... Ever. And these are drivers with a lot more driver training than I have (none, although I'm not entirely untrained in reading lines and carrying momentum).
What does this mean? Simply put: It's all in your head.
No suspension mod will ever make a truely noticable difference during street driving. And only with an experienced driver will it make much of a difference on the track.
ain't that the truth. if one more Civic Si tries to overtake me in a turn... what am i talking about that won't happen even on a bad day.
