2007 MCS w/ JCW Kit??

Wondering when the JCW kit was released for th 2007 R56 Cooper S? I know when the R56 was first released in Canada (February 2007) the JCW kit was not available. Even when I took delivery of my MCS in July '07 there were still many rumors on the release date of the JCW kit.

When was it released? I know with the supercharged Mini's the JCW kit was well worth the investment. Is it a similar value with the turbo engine? I have heard that the turbo is already running at around 14psi with 11.1 compression ratio. Not sure how easy it would be to squeeze much more from the engine.

Thanks.

Not sure when it was released, but had mine on order for 2 months and finally got it in October 07. There is definitely a difference in power and sound, it's a lot of money for only 17 horsepower, but I wanted my factory warranty in tact. There are several dealers selling these for discount prices. I paid $1890 for mine but MorrisTown Mini has them for only $1680
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214217 go to 07 JCW link on the left.
Expect to pay about $250-$350 for install.

well worth doing. Engine much more free breathing. Does not convert the car into a pavment burner BUT it makes it infintely more fun to drive throughtout the rev range. I don't buy "specs"-JCW is more than a sum of its parts.

Well said,I added some Alta goodies to make it breath better and the car has come alive. The engine growls and the JCW ECU seems to like the additions.I could care less about the specs and the dyno's as well ,the car is just stupid fun to drive, definitely fast and I couldn't be happier...WELL worth the investment and absolutely no problems...
