Wheel Fitment - 07 MCS

I am trying to get some winter wheels for my 07 MCS and i found a guy who has some 16 inch 02 MCS wheels (I guess they are called Sheriff Star). Do you all know if they would fit okay on my car?

Probably not. I'm told that when Mini went to a larger brake in 2006 they had to make a new wheel to fit over them.

The R56 MCS's have larger brakes yes, but you can put R53 wheels on an R56 as long as they are 16" or bigger. I just did it myself.

Also, the bolt holes need to be large enough for 14mm lug bolts. The R53 uses 12mm. So, the holes might need drilling.

Only 2 of the 1st Gen 16" OEM wheels were approved for the JCW Brake Kit ... R87 and R94.

Never heard of any OEM wheels with that name.

If you mean R83 5-star ... these are not approved:

R87 and R94 (left to right) are approved:

Note: R87 are 16x5.5 not 16x6.5

.......... I have been using this model rim on my 2007 MCS since October. Fits like a glove. My question is why do you claim these are not "approved"?

People are running R84 wheels with JCW brakes too but they're not approved either.

I'm just repeating information posted on MotoringFile.

You'd have to ask MINI why they're not approved.

in October i purchased winter rims (R83 5-star) and tires from discount tires. this was the only oem rim they offered ($73.00 each) and based on their computer system it is approved for 2007 MCS. but i hear what you are saying after reading the link, thanks.

As long as they work without scraping on other parts, I wouldn't be worried either.

Conjecture was there might be brake cooling issues due to the tight fit.
