Were their any minis or just BMW on the ship that lost its load at the port of jersey city ,70 of the vehicles were written off.

 

Wow. Hope your MINI is OK. Here's a pretty good story. It mentions only BMWs.

 

It appears many of the Bimmers lost were V8 gas hogs. I shed a tear......

 

I haven't seen anybody post yet, that their MINI was a gonner..... I think it was just BMWs.

MINI's come from GB and BMW's come from Germany....why would they be on the same ship??

 

If I remember correctly, our ship (the Tortugas) was coming from a German port before stopping in Southampton... It might've been picking up some German vehicals.

 

All the poor future M3 owners....

The Maersk Wind that my car arrived on has a capacity of 2,500 cars. In tracking the ship on its run, it went from Germany to Belgium to Britain. I imagine there were Volvos and other cars, in addition to the BMWs and Minis.

 

And MINIs and BMWs go through the same VDC at their destinations.

 

Yes they do, and on the west coast, that's located at the city of my birth, Port Hueneme.

Shhh. Not too loud. I got here before it got ruined. But my family first settled here after walking the Oregon trail in 1846.

Also spent time in Idaho. Both there and here the most rabid anti-Californians are those who left California about five years earlier. Funny, and sad, about that.
