.....about cancelling my order for my all black MCS.

I hear how the black paint is crap, the car breaks down, leaks, shakes, makes noise, breaks windshields, surges, stalls and otherwise just falls apart.

I would have figured German engineering to be a tad better.

Disappointed I am.

Go, then. Regret is a terrible thing. If you are going to regret receivng your order, then cancel it.

You are canceling your order for the Black MINI, or any MINI.

I’m not writing this so you may change your mind, just to let you know there are more people out there with trouble free MINI’s than with. We just don’t have to post to say it, we just enjoy.

I just have to say that my 02 MCS has about a gazillion miles on it without a single problem. No rattles, no stumble, still looks brand new. I've only had to buy one tank of gas as I get exactly one-gazillion miles per gallon (so the computer says). Oh, and my dealer calls me up weekly to check on my happiness...and often my Motoring Advisor shows up at my doorstep with a tasty brunch and a selection of local and national newspapers. So, I don't know what you mean by "problems."

(here we go again.... )

Punisher,

On a hunch, I did a search on all of your other posts, and found that you are having a really hard time deciding what you want. You have waffled over colors, models, mods, speed, roads, and all sorts of other things.

Before you get into commitment on a car, perhaps you should prioritize what's important to you in a car. If it's fun, you are in the right place. If it's speed, you are not. If it's reliability, buy an Accord.

You should cancel your order and figure out what you want before you go and buy it. You have no hope of being satisfied by a car until you figure out what will satisfy you.... or perhaps you should just stick to your 232mph motorcycle.

Mine has been nothing but problems, which i'd be ok with if they got fixed expeditiously and carefully by the mini dealer network, which is unfortunately very limited and very horrible. I wouldnt recommend this car if you dont have a dealer with a good reputation who is willing to take care of you and your purchase.

macncheese – sorry about all your problems.

I bought my MCS because I wanted it. Didn’t care about anything else – I wanted my MINI. My closest dealer is over 300 miles away

Punisher.

Yes. Cancel your order. You obviously aren't "Motor" material. Better get back to your comic books and the fantasy world therein. If you want a perfectly silent car that you never have to even think about, then get that black Civic you know you're seriously considering now and then promptly forget about it.

Why did you want a MINI in the first place? You obviously have spent sometime reading and
photoshopping things before you came here last month.

Why?

I've been trying to figure out how to get one for about a year now and I can't wait for the day when all of my cc bills are finally paid off so I can go order one.

You seem to be just the opposite, all of your posts that I have seen always seem to have a disparaging remark about MINI's. If you're not into them, don't buy one. If you have honest questions ask them.

Otherwise, why are you wasting your time here trolling?

Chris

Ah heck... don't be so hard on him. I've thought the same thoughts once or twice and then I remember that I just sold a Discovery that was 8 years old and had about 115,000 miles on it and was supposedly one of the lowest-quality rated SUV's on the road. If I can survive that vehicle and enjoy it, a MINI is going to be a real blast.

Now if the trucking company would just get it here from back east!

I agree, cancel your order now! I don't want to even encourage another MCO'r who waffles at the decision, succumbs to the MCO peer pressure and encouragement, orders the car, and then, unhappy with their own decision, because they can't handle the stress of a car has a few quirks (as all british cars should), goes on-line and posts, "my MINI sucks" for every little inconsistency. --"I don't like how the air blows out of the vent in the top of the dash," I don't like the boot latch on the passenger side?" "I don't like that usesless button on my MFSW." and so on.

Dude, you sure your on the correct message board? With a name like punisher what are you looking at MINIS for anyway. You need to be looking at something that fits you like for instance a big ol Dodge one ton dually 4wd 4 doors 6 speed with the Cummins turbo Diesel. Oh wait, that's my next truck.

damn.. you guys are horribly mean.
punisher.. i dont know what kind of reassurance you're looking for but there are plenty of people who don't have problems. for example myself.. my first mini cooper was a sh*t load of problems, mainly because of the dealer.. with my cooper S i switched dealers and have thus far had no problems.. its only been about 2 weeks, though. every car has problems. my first car, a nissan altima had a butt load of problems.
if you are unsure, then cancel your order.. IQQIMINI is right, you need to figure out what you want in a car before deciding on a car.

I know what I want in a car.

I want a car that I spend close to $30,000 on, not to break everyday.

All the problems Ive heard about this car are based on what you people have said. All that information comes from these boards. You've said it....not me.

Listening to all of you is funny. You act like this car is the second coming of Christ. Like if Im not in love with and worship the car, I dont deserve one.

Its a freakin car. Its gonna be a grocery getter for my girlfriend and a putt putt mobile for me to haul stuff to and from the shop where I work on my bikes.

You read these boards and its this broke, that broke, lemon law this, lemon law that.

Before you go jumpin down my throat, maybe you should read the pages on this board and listen to what the members of this site have to say about the car. They make it sound like a cheap piece of crap. People that are interested in a MINI will come to this site to learn about it. They will only learn what you put up on these pages. What you guys put up on these pages isnt very flattering.

Punisher, actually you took all that crap pretty well! I don't know what got everyone's butts a fire but they're really lit! The thing you and everyone reading these boards need to keep in mind is the percentage of posters here is a very small percentage of the entire MINI community. Lots of folks like me have had virtually troublefree cars (6300 miles - a coolant tank replaced and a strut bolt changed).
Overall I'd say it was a pretty good car. I know I've never had more fun driving anything else I've owned in the past 35 years! Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Well I for one have been on this site for well over a year and never once did I get the impression that my car is a cheap piece of crap. Naturally there will be things wrong with a car that was pretty much just released here. And as far as the lemon law thing is concerned...I know of only a couple people that have had issues regarding that. Additionally, although some people may post their troubles on here....I think the good far outweighs the bad in most situations.

Again...do what you want...I can assure you that noone here will try and force the car down your throat. Have fun with whatever you decide to get.

-L.Mini (2002 Cooper....still no major issues after 16,200 miles.)

So true!

Hey dude, no grief here from me. If you're not feeling it, it's fine. Don't listen to the negative people. And for that matter, don't draw conclusions from an online board as to a car's reliability. People come online to look for answers all the time. That's why you see posts about problems. As idealistically cool as it would be to have us all posting about how "we started the car this morning and everything was perfect", it'd get pretty damn old, don't you think?
