07 windshield wipper question

I do Not have rain sensors - however, yesterday it was raining - put the wippers on fist click.. Wippers work as usual - when I came to a red light and stopped - the wippers slowed way down while I was stopped - when the light went green and I took off, the wippers picked back up again - Wow, way cool... So, have I just been living in a shoe box and been out of the loop or is this something new or is it just a "Mini" thing, lol

Normal. I noticed mine did that too and thought pretty much the same thing you did when I first saw it. The only thing that bugged me about the wipers was how confusing it was to figure out how to turn them on just slow and turn them back off. Of course I didn't put in the time to read my manual so that would've no doubt helped. Just seemed a bit complicated!

Hah, good question. We both started with MC's, both being very recent MINI owners in fact (I got my MC in Nov '07, he got his in Dec '07 after decided against the Smat Fortwo..thank goodness). In late Dec., I had too many things nagging me about the MC, so when I found out the dealerships were offering 4.9% financing, we took my car back over and traded him in. Lost a bit of money, but it was soooooooooo worth it. I got the decked out S with xenons I wanted in the first place!

Also, we're both pretty green-minded, but him a little more so than me when it comes to our vehicles. Funny part is that I'm averaging only 2-3 mpg less than his manual MC in my auto MCS on most days!

I always fumble with the wipers too, I end up turning on the rear one, starting the washers, front, back... I'll get it right one of these days...

I saw that the wipers are suppose to be speed sensitive, but I have only observed the delta in speed when moving or stopped. Not really speed sensitive.
