Anything special about alignment on the MINI

I hit a pothole and destroyed a tire. I want to get the alignment checked and adjusted if necessary (its now has a ever so slight pull to the right) Is the standard alignment on the Mini just like any other vehicle or do I need to find a shop that knows about the mini.

Any shop can do it. Just note, that camber and castor cannot be changed if you have a stock car. The pull might not be rectified with a simple toe alignment.

Hrm, why would it not be rectified? is it possible something else would be have been damaged to cause the pull?

Strut tower mushrooming (top of the shock mounting surface pushed up) will change your allignment. Fixable now and preventable with a reinforcing plate.

My towers have always shown a very slight tower mushroom. You can tell that the bolts are not perfectly straight up in down in relation to each other any more. The car never had any adverse effects and drove just fine. After the pothole the towers look the exact same as before.

Should I jack the car up and hammer the towers flat with a block of wood and hammer before an alignment? I have driven the past 30,000 miles with the little bit of mushroom that currently is their with no adverse effects at all...

If it gets aligned before hammering down the tower will that change the alignment?
