After Oil Change Need to Reset The Computer....

i just do the oil change by myself but how to reset the computer?
does anyone know how to do that?

If you are doing an intermittent oil change don't reset the computer. You want the dealer to reset it at its free service interval. If you reset it he may make you wait more than you want for its next oil change.

I changed mine and intentionally did not reset it.

Here is what I found on NAM if you want to reset the oil interval... Here is how to reset the oil service light: 1) Press and hold the trip button 2) Insert key and turn to position 1 3) Watch for RESET to appear 4) Release the button, then press & hold it again 5) Wait for the RESET to flash 6) Release the button, and then press & release (once only) 7) Service interval should then be reset to next interval

Thats sounds like it's for an R53 with a key that can be turned.

yes it is for an r53... oops, did not know you were looking for an r56... sorry. I see it now... 2007 MCS... doh!!! :-)

You can't do this on an R56. An earlier post said that a reset on an R56 has to be done at the dealer. Anyone have any further info?

which means for R56 we can't reset our computer. it is so stupid.....

I just got my oil changed at the dealer and they forgot to reset my timer. Ugh...time to go back.

Why would you want to? Is your R56 out of warranty? I believe that there is more to the first dealer service than just an oil change. Why would you want to delay that service?
