I have heard some remarks about how difficult black is to take care of or keep clean. Even so, I have friends who simply must have black, regardless. More power to them. Pepper White is very nice, but the whole color thing is so subjective. If it were between the two colors, I'd probably go with PW simply because of ease of care, but I'd probably get a black top 'cause I'm into 2-colored MINIs (...also subjective). The new orange color sounds intriguing, and I love EB...and, of couse I love my IB/W. See, I'm no help. BUT, would I get another MINI?...ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!!!! Do whatever you must to feel comfortable with your color choice...you'll love your MINI all the more because you'll KNOW its best MINI for you!!

I'm guessing that the site's slowness today had something to do with the submit button not seeming to work for flangi.

rataha, where so you live? This is the first I've heard of that problem.

Yeah, I would guess the slowness was a problem there too, however this thread has also been submitted under two other titles as well. There will be only one thread - this one.

I don't have any experience with the black roof, but I stand by my previous recommendation: pepper white/pepper white, Lapis, and the Union Jack.

Welcome to MCO...

I've got an all-black MCS...in my humble opinion, it is the best-looking MINI when clean. The black is glossy, and sets off the chrome very well.

That said, the black is very hard to keep clean. Since the MINI is a hatchback, the rear of the car is constantly dusty or dirty due to air swirl. If you can wash the car regularly, and aren't afraid of the occasional scratch (which can be dealt with), then black can be a beautiful color.

If I had to do it again, I might opt for DS, or even PW with a black top. Both are classy colors...

Go with what makes you happy, but be ready for some upkeep if you decide on black.

I have a Black Cooper with a white top with the chekered flag decal,
I agree that black can be a pain to keep clean, but when she is "WoW"
been thinking to change the decal to a spider web
I also have British Racing Green "S" which is also hard to keep clean.
So go with what you really want you'll be happier in the long run.

Jet black Looks 100% the best of any color WHEN its spotless clean, it is also the least likely color to stay spotless Clean for more then 5 minutes after its washed for 4 hours. IMO

i love my black, but it would have to be washed every 3 days to keep me happy, right now i only find time for once a week

Hummm... I wonder if others have had heat related problems with the black roof, or if there's any coorelation between a black roof and windshield stress cracks??

If I had to do it over, I'd get the exact same combo I have now, blk/blk. I love my MINI to death, and I'd never change her. True love.

I have a JB/W MCS and I would definitely get the same colors again. It is a chore to keep clean, but it is bearable as long as you are not a hyper-detail-freak.

The only thing I would reconsider is the white wheels. I love the way they look, but they get dirty about 1000% faster than the rest of the car, even the hatchback.

The great thing about MINIs is that I bet 99% of us feel this way. To me, red/white is the only way to go. The people with yellow MINIs couldn't imagine it any other way. I don't think I have ever seen an all-black MINI, but I'm sure they are gorgeous!

MINICLO has an all black MCS that I saw at the Tail of the Dragon, and it is gorgeous. I would consider that combo next time around, as they don't make my gorgeous silk green anymore!!!

I have a jet black Cooper with white top/wheels and sunroof, and I would definitely go with it again if given a second chance. I do have to wash the car once a week, but it doesn't matter much cause the car is small and easy to clean. In any case I think that all the colors are great except the gold one, I'm not too sure on that one yet.

yep...i got SG/B. the SG is easy, the B roof is dirty by the end of the next day. if it rains that day, it's just not your day.

but...black is killer when it's clean and shiny. super deep gloss when taken care of, like washing every 2-3 days.

Hi there...

i have an all black mini and given the chance to chose again i would definately stick with it! My personal opinion is that its the best looking Mini and looks great with all the chrome!

Go for all black then put your own strips on!! Good luck with your Mini Adventure!
