JCW Ebrake handle-how does it stay on?

Ok, I've managed to install the JCW shift **** and now I'm installing the Ebrake handle. I've removed the old handle and boot from the console, and I've re-installed the boot to the JCW with a new zip tie, now I slide the JCW handle onto the shaft and there is no clip or anything to hold it in place.

The OEM lever has a clip in the front that falls into a slot to keep it from moving forward, the JCW has nothing like that. am I suppose to glue this on??
I did see an install manual for an R53 and they show an illustration with a brush and something called Sikaflex being brushed on the ebrake lever.

Anyone installed a JCW Ebrake on an R56?? Is it supposed to be glued on?
The part number on the box was 34 40 0 417 956 and appears to be correct, but is it possible that someone put the wrong lever in the box? Maybe its for an R53. Help

Yup, glue, epoxy, double sided 3M tape...whatever you think will work...thats how most did it.

Ok, that would make sense, since there is no tab to hold it in place.
I was thinking of doing that, but just wanted to be sure before I permanently affixed it.

Any recommendation on the type/brand of epoxy that should be used?
I'm thinking if I ever need or want to replace the boot that I would want something that could be muscled off if needed.

Thanks

Braden

PGT,

Thanks, yeah I was thinking about doing some kind of tape, but I also want it to feel solid, maybe double sided or a 3M clear silicone caulking, it would probably hold pretty good, but also not to hard to break loose when needed.
I'm headed over to Pep Boys auto parts in a few minutes, see what they have, then maybe Home Depot, I want to get this thing done this afternoon.
Thanks for the ideas

Braden
