Wanted to introduce myself...

...and my recently purchased 2004 Mini Cooper S!

Yeah, she's a little dirty, but I've been motoring like crazy since I've had it, and can't wait to start figuring out what to mod on him!

What's funny is that I actually found it at the local VW dealer... I had gone in there fully expecting to come home with a new GTI, but after figuring out that I couldn't afford it, this car was brought up. After one drive, I was immediately hooked, and all I could think was "go kart." Haha, and the rest is history I suppose

Oh, and out of curiosity, is anyone on here a pro at Photoshop? I have an idea for a flag that I want to mount on the antenna... involving a black flag, with what would appear to be the familiar "skull and crossbones," but is actually the MINI logo with the crossbones behind it.

I don't know why, but I'm compelled to name this car Captain Jack Sparrow ...or maybe "The Captain" for short.

So hello to everyone, and I hope to be nearly as active as everyone else on here! Oh, and check out my sig pic, I thought of it a few days ago and thought it would be fun!

I'd black out the tail lights. I just did on my purple MINI and it looks great. I bet it would even look better black on black.

Love the sig pic -- very funny.

-- and you chose the best color out there.
As you've seen: hard to keep clean -- but when it is, nothing looks better.

Yeah, there's fingerprints all over the boot, and just a load of dust and dirt all over it. Not to mention the wheels are covered in dirt... but they'll be coming off very soon for the winter wheels/tyres. The dealer threw those in too, which I was definitely excited about.

Smoked lenses... I agree, it would look sick. Any ideas how hard they are to put on?

I just did the other day. It's a thick window tint material. They just go on with soapy water and you'll need a blow-dryer to heat it up to make it plyable. The first one took me about an hour, the second one about 10 min. I just had to get used to what I was doing. And they have to cure for at least 48hrs. The only hard thing was positioning them on the correctly and getting all the air bubbles out of it, but it wasn't too bad. If I can do it... :-)

Also, if you take the light off the car it makes it much easier.

Welcome to NAM!

Name your car soon. It might help to reduce "The Captain's" gender confusion.

That is a nice MINI, I have always liked the black with the white roof, cool combo.

I would do something like this, lower it, change the wheels, tint the rear lights, pure hotness.

Jet Black with a checkered roof !

Looks like the offspring of my MCSC and MC !

She's a beaut, even with the dirty wheels (if you knew who OCD I am, you'd realize just how large a compliment that is) ! Congrats.

Holy crap, that's one sharp looking MINI. I think the blacking out of the lights is inevitable for me sometime soon, and I agree, I was looking for some new wheels for this car. Although to be honest, I've been searching everywhere for some wheels with at least a little bit of the deep dish look with em... even though I know it's hard to find with the offset on these cars. Anyone have any solid suggestions? I really do like how those ones in that pic look though.

Haha, I know, it's killing me that they're so dirty! But I figure whatever, since the winter wheels are going on very soon.

Maybe I've adopted the long lost child of your MINIs?
