Navigation & Audio AM reception with aftermarket head units

AM reception with aftermarket head units
Hey guys,
I have the Alpine CDA-9886 and I have absolutely NO AM reception. I had a booster installed and everything and still do not have any AM reception. Is this common when an aftermarket Head Unit is installed? Is there anyway to get AM reception back? The only reason I want AM is for occasional traffic and Dodger games.
