On my '07 Mini S, the driver has a side sun visor just over the door. The passenger side has a grab handle in the same relative location.

Has anyone tried replacing the passenger's grab handle with the same sun visor that the driver has?

Yes they have. There was a thread about this recently (maybe search here and the interior mods forum). As I recall you just buy another visor, unscrew the grabhandle, and screw the visor into the same 2 holes. The visor with a sunroof is different than the visor without sunroof.

You just unsnap two small hinges on the handle which will allow access to screws holding it into the headliner. Said screws are then used to mount the visor.

I actually found that the dealer's price on the visor was around $60 for the non-sunroof model. The Minispeed is more for some reason (non-sunroof is $70).

 

We have a sunroof so I didn't even notice the higher price on the non-sunroof type o_O
