Aero Grille on a non-aero grille bumper

I have an 03 mini S and I have fallen in love with the black aero grilles. All the sites I have seen that sell them say that it requires some modification of the lower small grille but they dont show how to do it or how much "modification" is required.

A) Is it a big deal to install these?
&
B) How is it done?

Im not a mini mechanic or anything but I know my way around a car, is it worth the headache?

Thanks

I was about 5 seconds away from posting that because I had the same question a few months ago.

Are you gonna do this mod also? its fairly easy to do, all you have to make sure is that you take your time shaving off the extra plastic to make it fit flush

I agree, fairly easy mod it just takes some time to cut the slots for the lower grill. I used painter's tape and covered the area around the lower grill for protection and a place to mark. Also, when you take the bumper off, I found it easier to have it on some saw horses to get it to waist height. Good Luck

minspeed.net has grills that affix over the stock trim as well.
