Classic mini refuses to motor =(

I have a fuel injected 96' Rover mini. I recently got it and drove it around without a problem. One day I was driving and turned it off, then I tried to turn it on and it just doesnt stay on.The car starts but when I let go of the gas it turns off. I need to leave my foot on the gas to remain on. Any ideas on what it can be? Thx

Have you tried pulling the codes from it yet? I would think based on the year, it would have OBD II.

I don't know specifically about your engine, but that sounds like a vacuum problem. If your engine has vacuum lines check those.

Check your electric fuel pump fuse. My 90's Rover SPI has a 20amp fuse for the fuel pump. If the fuse blows you can get a similar result to what you are having. On my car it is fuse #11.

Ooops! I just checked my car today the fuel pump fuse is a 10amp not 20amp.

There is also a 10amp fuse that controls the fuel pump relay and engine management system. Check these two fuses this may be a simple and cheap repair!!
