R50/53 They named the kid MINI!
We just got back from Tahoe City. We left my sister-in-law's real estate office and saw a group of people looking at our red MCS and got to talking to them and answered the usual questions, yes we saw the Italian Job, etc. Anyway, one of the people said they had friends with the last name Cooper, who also had a MINI, and they named their new baby girl MINI. Outstanding!

Actually, I think it's 'Minnie' Driver. Since Minnie is an acceptable girl's name, I think that the variation of Mini will probably be okay for the kid. Wini, or is it Winnie?, is probably a nickname for Winnifred.

As you can see, the popularity (in the US) of the given name "Cooper" is growing...

Unfortunately, the name "Mini" or "Minnie" hasn't ranked within the top 1000 in the past 12 years. So, little "Minnie Cooper" has quite a rare name.

Personally, I really dislike those names like Cooper, Tyler, Austin, Porter (of course, my wife did need to work hard to convince me not to name our two boys Porter and Stout
). But "Minnie" is kind of neat in a sort of "YEEHAW! Clem fetch me my gun! Lets get some victuals!" kind of way.

I've always kinda liked the trans-gender type names:
Terri - Terry
Bobbie- Bobby
Maria Jose - Jose Maria
They're great for fraternal sister/brother twins but, I would never place that burden upon my own offspring, and others are wont to let me name their kids. Oh well, probably for the best.
